Cine Gear 2026
ZEISS will unveil the “Panoptes 65” series of cinema lenses for 65mm format at Cine Gear Expo in Los Angeles on June 5, 2026. This new series consists of 10 prime lenses and demonstrates the company’s continued commitment to large-format video production.
The Panoptes 65 applies the company’s accumulated optical technology to the 65mm format. Designed for a wide range of production environments, it combines the reliability required on set with natural colors, soft skin tones, gradual focus out, and silky bokeh.

Jean-Frey Fachon, Senior Product Manager at ZEISS, commented as follows:
“The introduction of Panoptes 65 is an example of ZEISS’s commitment to the future of large-format filmmaking. It is a complete and consistent lens set built to perform at every stage of production, from set to post-production.”

Consistency, lens data, and coverage
To meet the demands of modern filmmaking environments, the new ZEISS Panoptes 65 lenses are designed to deliver consistent image quality that can withstand the rigorous scrutiny of VFX pipelines and compositing workflows. They offer full lens data support via eXtended Data (XD) as standard, enabling integration into the ZEISS CinCraft ecosystem for camera tracking, virtual production, and visual effects workflows.

The Panoptes 65 lineup consists of 10 focal lengths: 25mm, 35mm, 40mm, 45mm, 55mm, 70mm, 90mm, 110mm, 135mm, and 180mm, all featuring a uniform T-stop of T2.2. With Zeiss’s signature superior ergonomics, these prime lenses employ a dual scale (meters and imperial units [feet: approximately 30.48cm]). ZEISS positioned the focus and iris rings in a uniformly positioned location.
Equipped with an LPL mount, the Panoptes 65 covers a 59.9mm image circle, ensuring optimal compatibility with existing and upcoming large-format cameras such as the Arri Alexa 265, Blackmagic URSA Cine 17K 65, and Fujifilm GFX ETERNA.
