Thypoch announced the latest addition in its Simera-C cinema lens series, the “Simera-C 16mm T1.9 Full-Frame Cinema Prime Lens.” The announcement came on May 28, 2026, in China. It is scheduled for release in mid-June.

Designed specifically for professional video shooting, the Simera-C 16mm exhibits virtually zero focus breathing. The focus transitions are visually stable even during focus shifts, allowing for smoother, more immersive storytelling without distracting framing changes.
The minimum focusing distance of just 0.16m further expands creative flexibility, allowing you to create impressive compositions with exaggerated spatial depth and immersive foreground detail.

Inheriting the Simera-C philosophy of lightweight cinema design, the 16mm lens packs its optical performance into a compact body approximately 70mm in length. Weighing just 467g for the M-mount and 490g for the E-mount, it is extremely versatile for mobile production. Its lightweight construction allows for seamless integration with gimbals, drones, handheld rigs, and modular systems like the DJI Ronin 4D.
