Cosina Corporation will release the Voigtlander NOKTON classic 35mm F1.4 lens for Nikon Z-mount and Canon RF-mount in July 2026.
What is the Voigtlander NOKTON Classic 35mm ?

The F1.4 is a large-aperture, compact wide-angle lens that revives the classic lens aesthetic with the latest optical technology. Unlike modern performance-oriented lens concepts, it intentionally retains aberrations, pursuing the lens’s individuality and the beauty of its rendering.
The lens construction consists of 8 elements in 6 groups, employing a double Gauss type that is symmetrical around the aperture, reproducing the unique rendering of classic lenses. At wide open aperture, it produces a smooth and gentle bokeh that creates a sense of depth, allowing you to enjoy soft and delicate rendering. When stopped down, it achieves a resolution similar to modern lenses, making it a lens that allows you to appreciate the difference in rendering depending on the aperture value.
Fast Aperture of f/1.4
The F1.4 aperture is compatible with full-frame sensors and optimized for various mount bodies. The minimum focusing distance is 27cm, and focusing is manual only. A key feature is the all-metal barrel and the silky-smooth operation of the focus ring, thanks to its high-precision helicoid that withstands even the most demanding focusing adjustments.
The aperture is mechanically controlled via a direct-operating ring, and is adjusted on the lens itself, not via the camera’s command dial. The aperture has 10 blades, which allows for smooth rendering of out-of-focus areas of point light sources. This lens comes with a dedicated metal screw-on lens hood.
This lens comes equipped with electronic contacts, enabling electrical communication between the lens and body, it allows for Exif information recording, in-body image stabilization, and various focus assist functions.
