DZOFILM announced the release of the “Octopus II Adapter” and the “Marlin 1.4x Extender.” The company states that both products will provide greater flexibility, compatibility, and efficiency in a wide range of video production scenarios, from short video bloggers, content creators, live streamers, and YouTubers to independent filmmakers, commercial media and advertising professionals, and professional cinematographers.
The DZOFILM Octopus II adapter and Marlin 1.4x extender will be released on June 17, 2026.
DZOFILM Octopus II: Second Generation Multi-Mount Lens Adapter
The DZOFILM Octopus II is a highly versatile multi-mount lens adapter that supports E-mount, Z-mount, L-mount, and RF-mount lenses, as well as Super35, full-frame, and medium-format sensors. With a 7.12% increase in internal space, it offers improved compatibility with professional cinema lenses, including DZOFILM’s “Arles,” “Arcana,” “Vespid,” “Catta,” “Pictor,” and “Gnosis.”
The second-generation design is up to 49% lighter, weighing 190g (depending on the mount). It combines a robust aluminum body with a stainless steel mount that withstands over 100,000 attachment/detachment cycles with 0.01mm precision, ensuring long-term reliability and durability.
The redesigned ergonomic handle features a directional guide, making lens changes easier, especially when working with handheld or fully rigged camera setups. A removable 1/4-inch threaded base shifts the center of gravity towards the adapter, reducing stress on the camera’s original mount. Furthermore, factory-preset flange focal lengths eliminate the need for calibration and guarantee accurate infinity focus.

Marlin 1.4x extender with built-in back focus adjustment function
The new Marlin 1.4x extender extends the effective focal length by 1.4 times while keeping light loss to less than one stop, making lenses designed for Super35 compatible with full-frame sensors.
The Marlin 1.4x extender features high-quality, high-refractive-index SR optical elements, large-aperture aspherical lenses, and internal flocking to effectively reduce stray light. It strictly suppresses chromatic aberration and maintains the lens’s inherent characteristics. A built-in back focus adjustment function eliminates the need for the operator to remove lenses or use shims during setup and fine-tuning.
Featuring stainless steel mounts on both sides, the Merlin 1.4x extender is designed for long-term reliability and durability. Precision machining further prevents snagging during installation and operation.
