
Hollyland officially announced its latest wireless video transmission system, the Pyro 5 4K, at its headquarters in Shenzhen, China. As the release date and price have not yet been announced, this article will report on the information released overseas. The Pyro 5 4K integrates a monitor, transmitter, and receiver into a single compact device, enabling end-to-end 4K30 wireless transmission.
Based on the “Pyro 5,” this new wireless monitor incorporates three key updates: 4K30 end-to-end wireless transmission, support for direct control with more camera models, and a new feature called “Image Overlay.”
What is the Hollyland Pyro 5 4K ?

In professional production environments, individual wireless transmission systems and independent field monitors have traditionally been used, but this presented challenges such as the need for additional equipment, wiring, and time-consuming setup. Designed to offer more than just monitor functionality, the Pyro 5 4K simplifies this workflow by integrating various production tools into one compact solution, helping directors, broadcasters, and content creators simplify on-set setup and improve production efficiency.
Uncompromising transmission performance
At the heart of the Pyro 5 4K is 4K30 end-to-end wireless transmission across the entire Pyro ecosystem, guaranteeing crisp image quality for professional production workflows. Whether for filmmaking, commercial production, live streaming, or multi-camera broadcasting, this monitor supports wireless video transmission.
Hollyland’s WiFi Broadcast technology enables flexible wireless connectivity within the Pyro ecosystem. In broadcast mode, a single Pyro 5 4K can simultaneously transmit video to up to four Pyro devices at a distance of up to 200 meters in a straight line. When broadcast mode is off, it supports connections with up to two Pyro devices and two HollyView app clients.
Like the Pyro 5 and Pyro 7, the Pyro 5 4K operates on both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, enabling wider wireless communication. The “Smart Channel Selection” feature scans available frequencies each time the monitor is powered on and automatically selects an available channel. During use, the “Auto Frequency Hopping” feature maintains a stable connection by switching to a less crowded channel if interference is detected. In production environments using multiple Pyro devices, the manual channel selection feature allows each device to be assigned a different channel. This ensures each device maintains its own channel, reducing channel conflicts within the system.
More than just a monitor
With its wireless transmission capabilities, the Pyro 5 4K integrates transmitter, receiver, and monitor functions into a single 5.5-inch unit, simplifying both on-camera and mobile monitoring configurations. Beyond simple wireless monitoring, the Pyro 5 4K also supports direct camera control and proxy recording.
Direct camera control allows operators to adjust camera settings via the touchscreen without touching the camera body. Improved compatibility now supports more camera models from Sony, Canon, and Nikon. The new “Image Overlay” feature allows for precise framing using a reference image, making it ideal for achieving consistent composition across multiple takes while simultaneously reducing the need for additional shooting.
Furthermore, the monitor supports proxy recording, allowing users to save proxy files with embedded timecodes directly to an SD card, enabling synchronized reviews, rough edits, and collaborative work in post-production.
The Pyro 5 4K’s 5.5-inch, 1,500-nit display offers high visibility even in daylight and features professional monitoring functions such as waveform, false color, focus assist, zebra pattern, and 3D LUTs. It also supports HDMI IN, HDMI OUT, and SDI IN, providing high flexibility in signal input and output.
