Aputure STORM CS32 Full-Color LED Unveiled

Aputure announced the new full-color point-source LED light, “STORM CS32.”

The STORM CS32 is a high-output, color-adjustable light source. Using the included 30° reflector, it achieves 106,000 lux (5600K, 3m), delivering white light output comparable to a 4kW HMI or 10kW tungsten Fresnel in a smaller, lighter system. Furthermore, it employs the “BLAIR-CG with Extended Red” light engine, which distributes the red spectrum of BLAIR-CG across multiple emitters, enhancing spectral reproduction in the red range while maintaining high output, resulting in more natural and richer skin tones.

Aputure STORM CS32 Details

Despite its high output, the lamp head weighs only 16.8 kg (without yoke) and the controller weighs 10.8 kg, employing a lightweight, separate configuration for its class. This makes it easy for one person to carry in and set up, and suitable for sites with limited space or where mobility is required.

High-precision white light and full-color control

This light features a color temperature adjustment range of 1800 to 20000K and ±100% green/magenta correction (ASC MITC full range). Furthermore, it includes Indigo for reproducing natural fluorescence and Extended Red for more natural and richer reproduction of red tones and skin tones.

Furthermore, at output levels of 5% or higher, it supports flicker-free operation at all camera frame rates, making it suitable for high-speed shooting.

Equipped with Aputure mount

Equipped with an electronically controlled Aputure mount, it can be used with a wide range of optical accessories, including the motorized CF16 Fresnel, Aputure Mount Lantern 180 (AM Lantern 180), STORM Parallel Beam 70, XT52 reflector, and Aputure mount compatible softbox. It recognizes the attached accessory via electronic contacts, automatically optimizes the output, and protects the LED chip from overheating.

Durability and flexibility demanded by professionals

With IP65 dust and water resistance, it is suitable for use in professional video production environments. The lamp head and control box employ a sub-assembly structure that makes maintenance easy on a unit-by-unit basis, designed to reduce repair and maintenance time. In addition, the standard 7.5m lamp head cable can be extended up to 45m by connecting it with an optional 15m cable.

Aputure STORM CS32 Cine Kit

The STORM CS32 Cine Kit is an all-in-one kit designed for rental companies, owner-operators, and lighting professionals who operate equipment vans, ready to be taken to the job site.

The STORM CS32 Cine Kit includes a motorized CF16 Fresnel light, CF16 barn doors, skids, and dedicated flight cases for both the CS32 and CF16. The skids allow the light unit to be stably placed on a head cart or rack with the CF16 Fresnel light, barn doors, and head cable attached.

The STORM CS32, equipped with a 4kW HMI-class white light output, is combined with a motorized CF16 Fresnel light whose beam angle can be adjusted from 18° to 50°, enabling a wide range of lighting applications from spotlights to floodlights.

This kit allows for storage and transport of the equipment in an assembled state, enabling rapid deployment on-site.

Aputure Mount Lantern 180 (AM Lantern 180)

The AM Lantern 180 is a large, 180cm diameter omnidirectional softbox designed for high-power lighting equipment, featuring an Aputure mount. It is compatible with the STORM CS32, STORM XT52, Electro Storm XT26, and Electro Storm CS15, producing a wide-ranging, soft, and even light.

With its large 180cm diameter design, it can diffuse soft, even light over a wide area. It can be used in a variety of lighting scenarios, such as softly illuminating an entire space or creating natural ambient light.

Furthermore, it features a quick-deployment internal latch system, allowing for speedy setup and storage. In addition, the included light control skirt allows you to adjust the light spread, enabling you to customize the lighting to suit your purpose.

The AM Lantern 180 is compatible with Aputure’s high-power professional lighting equipment and is designed to create soft, even light in large spaces. A dedicated soft carrying case is also included for easy transport to film sets.

STORM CS32 Air Deflector

The STORM CS32 Air Deflector is a dedicated airflow accessory that supports configurations where multiple STORM CS32 units are lined up to be used as a large lighting system.

When installing multiple CS32s in close proximity, attaching them to each light fixture with the four included 3/8-inch thumbscrews directs the hot exhaust from the top of the fixture towards the rear, supporting heat dissipation and cooling. This contributes to maintaining an appropriate operating temperature when multiple units are installed at high density.

This is a dedicated accessory designed to maintain the appropriate operating temperature for each light fixture and support stable operation in large-scale lighting systems and shooting environments where multiple CS32 units are rigged at high density.

STORM CS32 Skid

This is a dedicated accessory that enhances the stability of the STORM CS32 when it is placed on a floor or table, supporting safe and efficient operation.

This skid enhances the stability of the STORM CS32 when placed flat on the floor, reducing the risk of the light unit tipping over even with the CF16 Fresnel lens attached to the front. By attaching the skid, the STORM CS32, with the head cable, CF16 Fresnel lens, and CF16 barn door attached, can be stably placed on a head cart or shelf.

STORM CS32 Extension Cable (15m)

This is a 15m extension head cable for the STORM CS32. The STORM CS32 comes standard with a 7.5m head cable, but this product allows you to further extend the distance between the light fixture and the control box.

This makes it possible to install the STORM CS32 at high places such as cranes, lifts, and trusses, while placing the control box in an easily accessible location such as on the ground.

Furthermore, the head cable can be extended up to 45m by connecting multiple cables. This allows for various installation environments, such as large-scale filming locations and rigging at high altitudes.
