Sigma Corporation announced three new lenses for its “Aizu Prime Line” of large-format cine lenses: the 21mm T1.3 LF, 100mm T1.3 LF, and 125mm T1.3 LF. They are scheduled for release in November 2026, with a suggested retail price of $9,799 US Dollars, each.

Aizu Prime Line Primary Features
T1.3 brightness expands the possibilities of visual expression.
The bright T1.3 aperture allows for shooting with a shallow depth of field and rich bokeh. By blurring the background and making the subject stand out, it enables the creation of images with a sense of depth and dimension.
Cinematic design
All lenses in the lineup utilize an optical system specifically designed for cine lenses. They are characterized by an organic rendering that maintains modern sharpness without feeling harsh. Furthermore, distortion and focus breathing are suppressed, aiming for stable rendering even in scenes where focus adjustments are made during shooting.
Sigma plans to release a total of 12 Aizu Prime Line models, ranging from 18mm to 125mm.
The Aizu Prime Line plans its roadmap covering a total of 12 focal lengths from 18mm to 125mm. Following the eight lenses released in 2025—25mm, 27mm, 32mm, 35mm, 40mm, 50mm, 65mm, and 75mm—three more lenses are now added: 21mm, 100mm, and 125mm. This brings the lineup of released and planned lenses to 11, and with the addition of the remaining 18mm lens, the total of 12 lenses will be available.
A unified look across the lineup
From color balance and contrast to flare and ghosting characteristics, the lineup maintains a consistent look. The aim is for consistent rendering across a wide focal length range from 18mm to 125mm, making it easy to maintain a consistent look between scenes even when changing lenses.

With a φ46.3mm image circle, the lineup supports recording in full frame and Super 35 formats, as well as large formats such as ARRI ALEXA LF Open Gate and VistaVision.

The Aizu Prime Line is designed with a minimum focusing distance in mind, allowing for close-up photography even when shooting close to the subject. Combined with a shallow depth of field, this enables image expression that makes the subject stand out.
Mobility and operability to meet on-site demands

This lens supports large format cameras and maintains a bright T1.3 aperture while also prioritizing mobility. The Aizu Prime line works with various shooting styles, including dollies, steadicams, gimbals, and handheld cameras.

Designed with professional shooting environments in mind, the camera employs a design that prioritizes operational precision, robustness, and ease of maintenance. The mechanical design, including the wide rotation angle of the focus ring and the aperture ring with a uniform pitch, utilizes the technology and experience cultivated with the Sigma High Speed Prime series.

The PL mount version supports Cooke/i + ZEISS eXtended Data. In addition to acquiring lens information in real time during shooting, it also supports output including lens distortion and shading correction data, contributing to the streamlining of post-production workflows, including VFX.
