ARRI and HONOR have announced a new step in their cinematic imaging partnership with the launch of the HONOR Magic9 Pro Max. This new flagship model, which integrates carefully selected elements of ARRI Image Science and features the ARRI brand logo on both the camera body and packaging, is said to be the first time the collaboration between the two companies has been made visible at the product level.
Following the recently announced “HONOR Robot Phone,” the “HONOR Magic9 Pro Max” expands this partnership to the flagship “Magic Series.” By adding even more “ARRI Looks” and providing access to the “ARRI Look Library,” HONOR aims to further establish ARRI Image Science within its mobile imaging portfolio.
David Bermach, Chief Product Officer (CPO) of ARRI, commented:
“The HONOR Magic9 Pro Max gives up-and-coming cinematographers the opportunity to introduce the ARRI brand to them early in their creative journey.”
“By providing access to ARRI’s image science and a more cinematic video production pipeline from shooting to post-production, we are further expanding ARRI’s philosophy, which we have upheld for over a century—to create inspiring visuals through the tools, workflows, and expertise to realize creative visions.”
ARRI’s brand is part of the product experience.

A key feature of the HONOR Magic9 Pro Max is that the ARRI brand is integrated into the physical product experience, with the ARRI logo appearing on both the device and the packaging. This co-branding extends to the smallest design details; for example, a dedicated ARRI logo, precisely and miniaturized for optimal reproduction, is placed next to the smartphone’s camera. Therefore, this device is more than just a technological integration; it is a result of co-branding that embodies cinematic image quality, visually linking ARRI’s tradition of professional imaging technology with HONOR’s premium mobile platform.
ARRI Image Science in Mobile Cinema Workflows
The HONOR Magic9 Pro Max integrates select elements of ARRI Image Science across the entire process, from shooting and color management to real-time preview and finishing. Native ARRI LogC3 recording in the ARRI Wide Gamut 3 color space is designed to retain more useful highlights, shadows, and color information for post-production, while ARRI Looks allows creators to preview their unique visual style in real time during shooting.
The device combines dual 200MP cameras with the HONOR Imaging Chip H1, APV 10-bit 4:2:2 recording, cinematic video capabilities, a cinematic directional microphone, and optional production accessories such as the HONOR Teleconverter G200, HONOR Teleconverter G500, and HONOR SmallRig Mobile Video Kit to create a more consistent workflow from mobile shooting to professional post-production.
ARRI’s next steps in expanding into the content creation field
This launch will further expand ARRI’s presence into content creation, in addition to its established film and live entertainment businesses. As mobile devices become central to brand communication, social content, documentary production, and everyday visual storytelling, this partnership will bring the principles of professional video technology to areas where speed, accessibility, and cinematic image quality are increasingly demanded to be integrated.
The HONOR Magic9 Pro Max will be launched first in China, followed shortly thereafter by other markets. Product specifications, pricing, color variations, memory configurations, sales channels, and other market information will be announced separately by HONOR.
