Cine Gear 2025

The KIPON booth always offers new surprises at every Cine Gear exhibition, each year. At the 2025 edition of Cine Gear Expo LA, newly developed cinema-related optical adapters and lenses made their debut, and the products that maintained the diagonal viewing angle in particular drew attention.
KIPON at Cine Gear 2025 Booth Focus:
Adapters that maintain diagonal viewing angles
One of the products on display was the “Baveyes Pentax67-Fuji G 0.62x Focal Length Reduction Macro Adapter (with Helicoid).” This is an adapter that belongs to the GFX 0.62x focal length reduction lens series and allows you to shoot with a sense of field close to the original.
This is a different product from the “P67-GFX 0.62x Focal Length Reduction Adapter” released in March for using Pentax 67 lenses with Fujifilm GFX medium format cameras, and the built-in helicoid design significantly shortens the minimum shooting distance, improving the convenience of photography. The optical design uses technology developed in collaboration with the Module 8 team.

Hasselblad adapter
KIPON began selling the “Baveyes Hasselblad V-Fuji G 0.62x Focal Reducer.” This adapter for the Hasselblad V system comes as part of the GFX 0.62x focal length reduction lens series. This adapter also features the ability to reproduce the angle of view of a Hasselblad V lens on the camera sensor. The company is particularly interested in combining it with the “FE 110mm F2.” The KIPON official website recommends lenses of “100mm/f2,” “80mm/f2.8,” and “50mm/f2.8,” taking into account peripheral shading.
Mamiya Adapter
Also of interest in the PRO BAVEYES Mamiya 645-LPL 0.8x focal reducer, an adapter that converts Mamiya645 lenses to an LPL mount, at the booth. This adapter is designed for the latest LPL mount cameras (or when using an LPL mount adapter), such as the ARRI ALEXA 265, ALEXA 65, BMCC 17K, and GFX ETERNA. By reducing the focal length to 0.8x, image loss due to crop factor is virtually eliminated and the diagonal field of view is maintained.

Still, it is interesting to note that KIPON is releasing products that are compatible with older medium format lenses. This makes it possible to effectively use these lenses on full-frame and larger sensors, which is a welcome development. KIPON says it continues to develop its products with the intention of allowing users to take high-quality videos and photos.
New Tilt Shift Adapter Released
The Tilt-Shift Adapter is also a noteworthy product. It is compatible with both video and photography and allows for perspective straightening with tilt correction. Lens mounts will be available in a variety of combinations, including Hasselblad and Pentax 67. This adapter is very precise and requires high skill in both manufacturing and assembly. It is a recommended product for architectural, interior and commercial photographers.

The potential of the medium-format prime lens “CINESPEED65”
At present, there is little information available about the “CINESPEED65” lens. For now, we know it is a 68mm T1.4 prime lens compatible with medium format cameras. In the future, there is a possibility that products with front and rear focal lengths such as 40mm and 50mm will be released. For the meantime, this will be an area to watch. The actual lens on display was an LPL mount.
