Expanding exhibitor numbers and exhibition space, opening the door to a new decade
The 2023 event will see 1,005 exhibitors and 31,702 visitors from Japan and abroad, approaching the scale of the event before the COVID-19 pandemic.
This year, the range of exhibitors is expanding, and the number of exhibitors is expected to increase even more than last year, with the venue expanding to the equivalent of seven exhibition halls at Makuhari Messe. To commemorate the 60th anniversary, the event will feature the first-ever “INTER BEE AWARD” and a new special event, “INTER BEE CINEMA,” as part of the media and entertainment industry’s efforts to “look to the future and open the door to a new decade.” At the same time, the event will also focus on evolving and enhancing its existing special events and conferences, and is determined to forge ahead strongly into the next decade.

“INTER BEE AWARD” established to recognize noteworthy new products in each category
The “INTER BEE AWARD” was established on the occasion of the 60th event. As the global media and entertainment industry is on the path to growth and expansion after a major turning point, the technology for creating, communicating, receiving and experiencing content is also evolving at an accelerating pace, including the use of AI.
Considering the current technological trends that will have a major impact on the entire media and entertainment industry in the future, it has been decided to hold the INTER BEE AWARD, which will accept applications for products and services to be exhibited at the Inter BEE venue, select and award those deemed to be superior.
The final judging for the INTER BEE AWARD will take place at the exhibition venue on Wednesday, November 13th, with the winners and awards ceremony scheduled to take place in the evening of the same day.
Establishment of “INTER BEE CINEMA,” an “Experiential Cinema Community” that showcases real filmmaking techniques
Inter BEE’s special projects will cover a wide range of the ever-expanding media and entertainment fields, while at the same time focusing on each field from a unique perspective and presenting a variety of different events.
This year, a special project themed on film production technology, “INTER BEE CINEMA,” will be launched and developed as an “experiential cinema community.” INTER BEE CINEMA will be a place where the technology and professionals at the forefront of Japanese film production, which is making remarkable strides from Japan to the world, will come together to share their techniques, sensibilities, and creativity.
In particular, the “Studio Set Area” will realistically recreate a film production site and host live demonstrations, and with the participation of some of Japan’s best film crews, it will be an experiential space that will inspire not only professionals involved in video production, but also the next generation of content makers.
“INTER BEE DX×IP PAVILION” proposes digital transformation of content production through inter-company collaboration
INTER BEE IP PAVILION, which has been promoting the IP migration of Japanese broadcasters from the technological forefront, will now be renamed “INTER BEE DX×IP PAVILION” to propose more efficient next-generation content production by incorporating new themes of “AI,” “Cloud,” and “Security” in addition to the main theme of “IP,” while retaining the previous inter-company collaboration.
In addition to “Basic MoIP Technology,” which focuses on visualizing IP systems, the exhibition will be developed around four other concepts: “Remote experience of MoIP equipment,” “Experiencing MoIP failures and recovery,” and “The world five years from now when digital transformation of content production is realized.”
Special events, conferences, and venue tours offering experiences, communication, and discoveries unique to Inter BEE
The event hall will once again host the “INTER BEE EXPERIENCE X-Speaker,” an established world-class SR speaker experience event.
In the exhibition hall, the special events “INTER BEE EXPERIENCE X-Headphone/X-Microphone”, “INTER BEE IGNITION×DCEXPO”, “INTER BEE BORDERLESS” and “INTER BEE CREATIVE” will be held with more power than ever. “INTER BEE FORUM” in the International Conference Center and the conferences held at the venues for each special event are scheduled to hold more than 100 sessions to convey the latest trends in each field, including the sessions of the “61st Commercial Broadcasting Technology Report Meeting (hosted and organized by the Japan Commercial Broadcasters Association)” held at the same time, as well as exhibitor seminars.
In addition, the “Inter BEE 2024 Venue Tour” will be held again this year to allow the next generation of industry professionals to effectively experience Inter BEE. Participation is open to students studying media and entertainment at universities and vocational schools, as well as general users. Applications to participate are accepted via the official website.
