NAB2026

LiveU announced a significant strengthening of its collaboration with Sony Corporation, aiming to promote integration with Sony’s file-based workflows across the entire LiveU ecosystem.
As part of its portfolio, LiveU will offer Sony RXS connectivity licenses. This will enable direct transmission of video files captured with compatible Sony cameras to Sony’s PWA-RXS via compatible LiveU field units.
This feature will be gradually rolled out, starting with LiveU’s compact field unit, the LU300S.

This license enables seamless file transfer while maintaining existing production environments and workflows by connecting compatible LiveU units to Sony cameras, expanding cellular bonding and IP-based news gathering capabilities.

This solution complements the LiveU TX1 data transmitter, which was announced in September 2025 for Sony’s professional camera series, and uses bonding technology to enable high-speed and reliable file transfer from the camera.
Both solutions will be unveiled for the first time at the LiveU booth (N1740) at NAB Show 2026 in Las Vegas.
This joint solution utilizes LiveU’s proprietary protocol, LRT™ (LiveU Reliable Transport), and is designed for broadcasters who want to quickly and reliably transmit files from on-site cameras to television stations.
LiveU’s Chief Product Officer (CPO), Gideon Gilboa, commented as follows:
“This expanded collaboration with Sony goes beyond live streaming and reaffirms our shared commitment to expanding our ecosystem to support increasingly important file-based systems and simplifying production workflows.
Building upon the integration with LiveU TX1, we will expand support to all LiveU units. This will allow customers to add licenses to existing LiveU units, in addition to the LiveU TX1 data transmitter specifically for Sony cameras, enabling them to run file-based workflows using Sony’s PWA-RXS in parallel with live streaming, thus expanding their options.
Our company emphasizes an open ecosystem that supports collaboration between multiple vendors and formats. By combining Sony’s file-based workflow with LiveU’s highly reliable IP transmission technology, news teams can simultaneously conduct live broadcasts and transmit high-resolution files from the same device.
By leveraging the existing LiveU infrastructure, deployment can be easily scaled as needed. Furthermore, it reduces manual file management, accelerates material transmission from the field, and streamlines both live streaming and file-based workflows, supporting the transition to digital-first production.”
Ryoichi Sakuragi, General Manager of the Media Solutions Business Division at Sony Corporation, commented as follows:
“The news production environment is becoming increasingly dynamic, and speed, reliability, and automation are more important than ever. Close collaboration with various video transmission partners is essential to meeting the needs of diversifying news workflows. Our partnership with LiveU, a leading company in bonded IP video transmission, plays a crucial role in this effort, enabling us to quickly, securely, and reliably incorporate content shot on location with Sony cameras into the production process.
Together, we are achieving seamless integration to support on-site reporting and material gathering in today’s rapidly changing environment.”
