NAB2026

Sony at the NAB (National Associations of Broadcasters) Show 2026, an international broadcast equipment exhibition, held in Las Vegas, USA, from Sunday, April 19th to Wednesday, April 22nd, under the theme “The Power Behind Your Story” (booth number C8401).
At the Sony booth, the company will showcase a new workflow for news production and live production that enables immediate and reliable reporting. In addition, Sony introduced the new “R Series” system cameras with high image quality and system expandability, as well as the evolution of “Networked Live” for efficient production. Sony also exhibited the “XYN” spatial capture solution, which began working with corporate clients.
In recent years, the spread of fake news has led to increased interest in more reliable reporting, and new challenges and needs have emerged in the video production field, such as the demand for diverse video content optimized for each viewer in music concerts and sports broadcasts. Furthermore, the demand for spatial content creation utilizing virtual production and XR is also expanding. Sony aims to respond to these various changes in video production and provide solutions that will drive the evolution of the industry.
In addition, Sony states that it will work with a wide range of content creators, including broadcasters and video production companies, to solve challenges in video production and explore new methods of expression, thereby co-creating the future of entertainment.
Sony at NAB 2026 exhibits
The latest news production workflows that support improved operational efficiency and reliability in news reporting.
- Sony exhibited the XDCAM Handycamcorder “PXW-Z300,” which went on sale in October 2025, in North America for the first time at NAB 2026. This camera is the world’s first camcorder to support the 2C2PA standard, which records authenticity information for video, meeting the need for highly reliable news reporting.
- As a new solution, Sony debuted “PWA-RXS” network RX station, which receives camera-native files transmitted from the shooting location along with metadata such as timecode, GPS information, and authenticity information, making them immediately available for use. By utilizing the “PWA-RXS” along with the portable data transmitter “PDT-FP1” and LiveU’s compact data transmitter “LiveU TX1” (announced in September 2025), Sony will contribute to consistently improving reliability from the shooting location to production and editing, and propose an immediate workflow.
- Furthermore, a connection option license for the “PWA-RXS” that LiveU will newly provide for its existing products will enable the simultaneous use of LiveU’s live streaming and the file transmission workflow proposed by Sony. In addition to its own products and solutions, Sony will propose a wide range of video transmission workflows to customers through collaboration with various partners.
- By combining the “PDT-FP1” with communication control technology currently under development, Sony proposes a workflow that optimizes and stabilizes still image and video transmission by analyzing communication conditions from among multiple cellular communication options provided by Sony and automatically switching to the optimal network. The evolution of system cameras and PTZ cameras, and live production that realizes a higher value-added “Networked Live” experience.
- Building upon the features of the previously released multi-format portable cameras HDC-5000 and HDC-3000 series, the new “R series” of system cameras improves basic performance such as imaging performance and system expandability. The exhibit will include the “HDC-5500R,” “HDC-5500RV,” “HDC-3500R,” “HDC-3500RV,” and “HDC-3200R,” as well as related products: the camera control unit “HDCU-3500R” and the 3D LUT option board “HKCU-LUT35.”

- The PTZ auto-framing cameras “BRC-AM7” Ver. 3.0, “SRG-A40,” and “SRG-A12” Ver. 4.0 will receive a firmware update in April 2026, leveraging Sony’s latest AI technology to expand functionality and support diverse video production, including sports broadcasting and content creation for educational and corporate audiences. These latest features will be showcased for the first time in the United States.

- Sony debuted Nevion’s new product, “MOXELA.” This product provides a system that can be flexibly deployed in a variety of environments for live production, whether on-premise or in the cloud, and that can easily handle various signal formats.
- The multi-format switcher “MLS-X1” will showcase a new function that enables efficient production by sharing input and output signals between multiple studios. In addition, the new product “ICP-X7000A,” which features a newly developed XPT control panel with significantly improved visibility and operability, will be exhibited for the first time.
The evolution of spatial content creation, including virtual production and XYN’s “spatial capture solution.”
- As a spatial content creation tool, the company exhibited solutions and products for virtual production and AR video production. Using a working unit of the “OCELLUS” camera tracking system, which enables markerless and highly accurate camera tracking, they demonstrated virtual production and AR live shooting without the need to install markers on the ceiling.
- The background generated using XYN’s spatial capture solution, which creates high-quality, photorealistic 3DCG assets, will be displayed on the Crystal LED VERONA. XYN’s spatial capture solution will begin offering services optimized for virtual production to corporate clients starting in April 2026.

In addition, the most recent version of “Virtual Production Tool Set,” which streamlines the production workflow, is demonstrated. Additionally, the company placed an exhibit of the Crystal LED CAPRI.
A diverse range of imaging products
Cinema Line cameras will be on display, including the top-of-the-line “VENICE 2,” the “FR7” (released in February with OpenTrackIO support), and the “FX6” (released in March with BIG 6 (home screen) display support). Examples of spatial content creation utilizing the VENICE Extension System Mini and spatial reproduction displays will also be showcased. In addition, the latest software updates will be on display, including the latest version (Ver 2.6) of the “Monitor & Control” app, which allows video monitoring and remote control via smartphones, tablets, and Macs.
