FUJIFILM Corporation has released the latest firmware Ver.3.00 for their mirrorless digital camera “FUJIFILM X-H2S” (X-H2S). It can be downloaded from the company’s website .
X-H2S is a mirrorless digital camera “X series flagship model. The company says that this update will further evolve the AF performance and expand the appeal of photography and video shooting with the X-H2S. In the future, we will continue to support shooting with the mirrorless digital camera “X series” and “GFX series” through functional improvements through firmware updates.

Enhancement of subject detection function by AI
To further improve the performance of X-H2S, we will continue to implement deep learning. The accuracy of subject detection has been improved, the number of subjects to be detected has been increased, and the AI-based subject detection function has been enhanced.
Improved subject detection accuracy
Detection accuracy has been greatly improved in scenes where it was difficult to detect subjects, such as when shooting against the light, or when shooting subjects facing sideways or small subjects. It is said that the subject detection function can be used comfortably in various scenes than before.
Adding Detected Objects
In addition to the existing subjects such as people, animals, birds, cars, motorcycles, bicycles, airplanes, and trains, this time we have newly realized the detection of insects and drones. Insects and drones can be detected by AI by setting the subject detection to “bird” for insects and “airplane” for drones.
Improved moving object tracking performance
By updating the moving object prediction algorithm, stable tracking is now possible for subjects that move at high speed within the frame. It is said that it will be possible to more comfortably shoot athletes and wild birds, which require high moving subject tracking.
The AF focusing speed has also been further improved when continuous shooting is started by pressing the AF-ON button and the shutter button at the same time when the camera is out of focus. Even in situations where the situation changes moment by moment, such as shooting scenes of athletes, you can shoot without missing a photo opportunity.
In regards to the enhancement of the subject detection function by AI and the improvement of the moving object tracking performance mentioned above, the “X-Trans CMOS 5 HS” sensor / “X-Trans CMOS 5 HR” sensor / high-speed image processing engine “X-Processor 5” It is said that it will be gradually expanded to models equipped with fifth-generation devices.
In addition, the lag that occurs before and after AF is improved when performance boost/EVF display frame rate priority is set, using the “T/W button” that can control the zoom .
