Fujifilm announced the upcoming release of the FUJIFILM GFX100RF from April 2025. The FUJIFILM GFX100RF is the latest model in the GFX series equipped with a large format sensor, but is the first lens-integrated digital camera in the GFX series. This camera is equipped with the 102-megapixel high-speed sensor GFX 102MP CMOS II and the latest high-speed image processing engine, X-Processor 5. The lens and body design have been thoroughly reviewed, resulting in a weight of approximately 735g, making it the lightest in the GFX series despite being a lens-integrated camera. It provides a shooting experience with unprecedented high image quality to more users.
The GFX100RF is the first camera to feature an aspect ratio dial that allows users to switch between nine different aspect ratios, derived from the photographic film and analog cameras that the company has offered for many years. This dial makes it possible to select the aspect ratio that best suits the subject and shooting intent.
Additionally, the Fujifilm GFX100RF is also the first camera to feature a machined aluminum camera body, with the lens ring, dials, bottom plate and other small parts also machined from aluminum, improving the metallic texture and uniformity of the design when holding the camera in your hand.
The newly developed 35mm F4 lens (equivalent to 28mm in 35mm format) provides a versatile angle of view, and when combined with subject detection AF using the latest AI technology and high-speed, high-precision AF function, demonstrates its performance in a variety of shooting scenes.
The GFX100RF is a product that combines the reputation and long history of Fujifilm contributing to the development of photographic culture with the latest technology and design.
Large-format, next-level image quality in an incredibly compact body
With a weight of approximately 735g, it is the lightest in the GFX series. To achieve this compact size and weight reduction, a new lens was developed and the internal structure of the camera body was thoroughly reviewed and optimized. As a digital camera with an integrated lens, it is significantly lighter than the GFX50R, which was the lightest model in the GFX series up until now, at 775g (body only).
It is equipped with the 102-megapixel large-format sensor GFX 102MP CMOS II and the high-speed image processing engine X-Processor 5. The newly developed lens and color reproduction technology realize the imaging performance unique to the GFX series. The GFX 102MP CMOS II has been recognized for its wide dynamic range, low-noise shooting, improved peripheral image quality, and improved AF accuracy thanks to the evolution of the pixel structure and micro lenses, realizing high image quality in the GFX series.
Full range of functions which brings out the appeal of large format cameras
This is the first time that one of Fujifilm’s top products has been manufactured entirely from aluminum, using machining techniques. Every detail, including the lens ring, dials, and bottom plate, has been precisely machined from aluminum. This has improved the sense of metallic texture and uniformity of the design when the camera is held in the hand. As a result, the camera body and dials stand out more, creating a sophisticated appearance befitting a high-end model.
Aspect Ratio Dial
To make the most of the 102 million pixels of the digital teleconverter function even easier to use, a digital teleconverter switch lever is installed on the front of the camera. The angle of view can be quickly and intuitively selected by operating the lever. The angle of view designed for 35mm (28mm in 35mm format) can be switched to three levels equivalent to 45mm (36mm in 35mm format), 63mm (50mm in 35mm format), and 80mm (63mm in 35mm format), allowing flexible response to a variety of shooting scenes.

LCD Monitor
Furthermore, a new surround view function has been added, which displays a semi-transparent or line image outside the shooting range according to the aspect ratio. The display can be switched by operating a lever while looking through the viewfinder, providing a shooting experience that is aware of what is outside the frame, just like an optical viewfinder, even while using an electronic viewfinder.
35mm F4 dedicated lens integrated design
The GFX100RF uses a newly designed 35mm F4 lens, developed exclusively for this camera. The back focus was shortened by using an integrated lens design with a lens shutter system. The resulting space was utilized to optimize the layout of the lens and camera components, resulting in a compact design.
The 35mm angle of view (equivalent to 28mm in 35mm format) is suitable for a wide range of shooting scenes, including landscapes, travel, snapshots, and portraits. The compact size and improved mobility give you more freedom in shooting.
The lens configuration of 10 elements in 8 groups, including two aspherical lenses, suppresses spherical aberration and field curvature, and demonstrates high resolution. Nano GI coating, optimized for lenses with large curvature, suppresses light reflection at the periphery of the lens, improving resolution.
It allows close-up shooting up to 20cm from the tip of the lens, and the compact and lightweight body design makes it easy to get close to the subject. For the first time in the GFX series, a 4-stage ND filter is installed inside the camera, supporting wide-open shooting in high-light environments and slow shutter shooting. The lens shutter allows flash shooting regardless of shutter speed, improving the freedom of shutter speed when shooting outdoors during the day, expanding the range of expression.
High performance that is useful in a wide range of scenes, from high-speed, high-precision AF to 4K30P video recording
The updated algorithm has improved the AF prediction function and face/eye AF. AI subject detection AF using deep learning technology allows for subject recognition of animals, vehicles, birds, airplanes, etc. The tracking AF function has been enhanced for video shooting, allowing subject tracking by touch operation. Subject tracking performance has been improved for both still images and videos.
The camera is equipped with a high-magnification, high-resolution EVF with a 0.84x viewfinder magnification and 5.76 million dots. When using the viewfinder, image blur and distortion caused by misalignment of the pupil is suppressed, improving visibility.
It supports 4K30P 4:2:2 10bit video recording at 30 frames per second. It enables wide dynamic range and low noise shooting at the standard sensitivity setting of ISO100. In addition, the 13+stop F-Log2 provides rich gradation image expression and flexibility in post-production.
It is compatible with the cloud service Frame.io Camera to Cloud, which allows you to upload video and still image files directly to Frame.io, shortening the workflow from shooting to editing.
