Nikon Imaging Japan will release on March 3, 2023, the “NIKKOR Z 26mm f/2.8” super-thin wide-angle single focus lens, compatible with full-size / FX format mirrorless cameras that uses the “Nikon Z mount.” Reservations will be accepted from 10:00 on February 9th. Suggested retail price is $499.95 US Dollars.
The NIKKOR Z 26mm f/2.8 achieves the thinnest AF lens of a full-size mirrorless camera at approximately 23.5mm. Furthermore, at 125g, it is the lightest NIKKOR Z lens, making it easy to store in a bag and ideal for carrying around. While having excellent mobility, it also achieves high optical performance by adopting 3 aspherical lenses. It aims to support advanced amateur users who always carry a camera with them, aiming for various shooting opportunities such as street photos and table photos that make use of the wide angle of 26mm and the maximum aperture of F2.8.
In addition, based off the materials used in contruction, the design is top-notch and high class. The included lens hood is designed specifically for ease of use without compromising the thinness of the lens body, and can be fitted with a 52mm filter (sold separately). In addition, it comes with a specially designed cover-type cap that can be attached even when using the hood.
