Zunow announced a new ZSW-085 0.85x wide-angle conversion lens which turns Sony camcorders into wide-angle lenses. These kits come compatible for the following Sony’s 4K camcorders: “PXW-Z200” and “HXR-NX800.”
What is the Zunow ZSW-085 ?
The Zunow ZSW-085 is a wide-angle conversion lens compatible with the 20x optical zoom lens of the PXW-Z200/HXR-NX800. It widens the zoom range from 24-480mm (35mm equivalent) to approximately 20.4-408mm when attached. It can be used across the entire zoom range and features a design that prioritizes image quality not only at the wide-angle end but also at the telephoto end.
This camera is designed for shooting in confined spaces where it’s difficult to move the camera backward, or for situations where a wide field of view is required, such as when you want to capture the entire stage. It is intended for use in a wide range of video production settings, including live events, sports, stage performances, and location shoots.
Furthermore, even when image stabilization narrows the shooting range, the 0.85x wide-angle conversion can compensate for the narrowing of the field of view. It employs “Zunow 4K Cine Coating,” designed for 4K shooting, to pursue high resolution and rich contrast.
Zunow ZSW-085 Features
0.85x 4K Super Wide
The ZSW-085 is a 0.85x wide-angle conversion lens that attaches to the front of the PXW-Z200/HXR-NX800 lens, widening the field of view.
Both cameras have a wide-angle end equivalent to 24mm in 35mm format, but attaching the ZSW-085 expands the angle to approximately 20.4mm. This is suitable for situations where you want to capture a wide area from a limited shooting space, or when you want to include both the subject and the background simultaneously.
Usable throughout the entire zoom range
The ZSW-085 supports the entire range of its 20x optical zoom, allowing you to capture a wide space at the wide end and then zoom in to get closer to your subject.
Because the angle of view can be adjusted according to the shooting situation without having to attach or detach a conversion lens, it contributes to speedy on-site operation. In addition, there is no change in the maximum aperture when attached, and the minimum focusing distance is approximately 0.7m across the entire zoom range.

Even when electronic image stabilization narrows the field of view, using the ZSW-085 allows you to secure a wider shooting range. It is also suitable for situations where you want to utilize image stabilization, such as shooting while walking or shooting while moving.

- Dedicated rectangular rubber hood (HU-127): A rectangular rubber hood compatible with the ZSW-085. It ensures light shielding and accommodates 127mm diameter filters.
