Adobe today announced that filmmakers have used Adobe Creative Cloud products and services in 10 of its Academy Award-nominated films. These works include box office hits like ‘Everything Everywhere All At Once’, ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ and ‘Top Gun: Maverick’, as well as three documentary films.
Filmmakers leverage Adobe Creative Cloud products such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Illustrator and Frame.io to edit, create and collaborate from anywhere, plus Adobe Substance 3D. I use it to create photoreal and hyperreal 3D objects and effects.
Everything Everywhere All At Once
Video editor Paul Rogers and the team at post-production studio Parallax Post used Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, and Frame.io to bring ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’ to life, garnered 11 nominations, including Best Editing and Best Picture.
“Adobe Premiere Pro is amazing and I can’t imagine editing in any other program,” said Rogers.
Top Gun: Maverick
Jace Hansen, UI designer for Top Gun: Maverick, uses Adobe After Effects and Adobe Illustrator to design and animate the realistic cockpit, speed and command center displays that captivate audiences. Recreating practical interior scenes of various aircraft, it won six nominations, including Best Visual Effects and Best Picture.
All of Adobe’s tools work well together in filmmaking, providing the fastest possible workflow from design to animation, modifications and alterations, and final compositing.
Black Panther/Wakanda Forever
Digital Domain Texture Lead Artist Sara Kosmi and her team used Adobe Substance 3D tools to refine the visuals of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which received five awards, including Best Visual Effects and Best Costume Design. To create the climactic battle, the digital environment was built from scratch, using Adobe Substance 3D as part of an integrated workflow, from battleships to ocean details.
Adobe Creative Cloud and Adobe Substance 3D work together to create blockbuster series such as Star Wars and Spider-Man, as well as world-famous titles such as Frozen 2, THE BATMAN, and Blade Runner 2049. It has also played a major role in the production of some of the most popular and influential films in the world.
Also, as a testament to Adobe’s continued innovation in the film and entertainment industry, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences presented Adobe Substance 3D Designer with a Science and Technology Award for its contributions to visual effects and animation. This is the third time Adobe has won the Science and Technology Award, including the 2018 wins for Adobe After Effects and Adobe Photoshop for their contributions to motion design and digital painting.
