Blackmagic Design has released the Public Beta 2 of DaVinci Resolve 18.5 and DaVinci Resolve Studio 18.5. The update is now downloadable from the company website.
This improves the Beta 1 release functionality and improves audio quality when encoding AAC audio on Windows 11 systems. This achieves a more distinctive and clear sound at lower bitrates.
This update improves H.264 and H.265 clip decoding on select Windows and AMD systems, resulting in smoother playback when working with these file formats. When using the new presentation features on Blackmagic Cloud, this update also improves syncing of markers to DaVinci Resolve’s timeline for faster note review and feedback incorporation.
For Fusion, a shading option has been added to the universal scene descriptor viewer dropdown and context submenu. This opens up a wide range of workflow options. Choose wireframe shading for faster playback, or flat or smooth modes for more detailed work.
Additionally, this update adds visualization options when working with uCamera, and the ability to selectively disable overlays to reduce screen clutter.
