Blackmagic Design announced the release of Blackmagic Camera update 2.2 for Android, which is now available as a free download from Google Play and, for the first time, from the Galaxy Store.
This update adds support for Blackmagic Cloud folders, which means customers can record clips into a shared folder and share them with others without having to create a DaVinci Resolve project. Content in a Cloud folder appears as virtual clips until they are used in a DaVinci Resolve project, so collaborators can access large amounts of media while keeping their media pool organized.
Support has also been added for the new Android 16 phones, as well as support for recording Advanced Professional Video (APV) codec on compatible devices. APV is a new high-end video codec for Android that allows for high-quality, visually lossless video recording at a lower file size compared to existing formats.
Blackmagic Camera 2.2 for Android also adds a histogram feature that displays the histogram in its own window, making it easier than ever to check and adjust the exposure of a shot to prevent clipping.
