NETGEAR Japan, the Japanese subsidiary of NETGEAR, has announced a mutual partnership with Panasonic Connect for KAIROS, an IT/IP platform for live production.
KAIROS is an IT/IP platform for live production that enables unlimited content expression for broadcasting, large screen display production, and live streaming. KAIROS adds ST 2110 to standard baseband and streaming connections, providing the flexibility of content creation with GPU/CPU processing and unprecedented input/output expandability. Users can create content quickly and powerfully based on an intuitive layer-based interface.
NETGEAR’s M4250, M4300, M4350 and M4500 series managed network switches feature an AV-centric interface that is unique in the industry, removing all the complicated menus and technical IT networking terminology, and instead allowing the switch to be configured through a simple, AV-friendly, template-based interface in NETGEAR AV OS. This optimized workflow allows broadcast and ProAV integrators and users to set up their systems with the correct network settings, while also reducing the lengthy training, knowledge and other complex setup steps typically associated with network switch configuration.
The M4350 Series brings this simplicity to enterprise-class hardware with redundant power supplies, up to 90W Power over Ethernet (PoE) per port, ultra-quiet fan design, and easy setup with the NETGEAR Engage Controller. NETGEAR AV OS also features pre-configured profiles for major audio, video, and lighting protocols, including AVB, Dante, AES67, NDI4/NDI5, NVX, AMX, Q-SYS, ZeeVee, Aurora Multimedia, Kramer, Atlona, LibAV, Visionary, and SDVoE. The M4350 Series models that support SMPTE ST 2110 and are subject to validation and compatibility with KAIROS are the VSM4320C and XSM4344C models with 10G to 100G ports and PTP synchronization.
Graeme McLindin, VP of APAC Sales at NETGEAR, commented on their partnership with Panasonic Connect:
“As NETGEAR enters the broadcast market, we couldn’t be more excited about this KAIROS Alliance partnership. Our network switches designed specifically for broadcast/ProAV come with pre-set SMPTE ST 2110 settings, providing KAIROS users with a simple and speedy setup and installation process.”
Kageyuki Fujimoto, Team Manager of KAIROS Alliance Partners, Panasonic Connect, said the following about their partnership with Netgear:
“We are pleased to announce that NETGEAR has joined the KAIROS Alliance Partners. Through our collaboration, we hope that the M4350 Series, featuring template-based configurability and user-friendly design, will expand new business opportunities for SMPTE ST 2110 in the video production market.”
