Fujifilm will release the top-of-the-line INSTAX analog instant camera, the FUJIFILM INSTAX Mini 99, on April 11, 2024. The suggested retail price is yet to be announced.
The FUJIFILM INSTAX Mini 99 is a model that further evolves from the “INSTAX mini 90” (hereinafter referred to as “mini 90”). It is equipped with new functions that further expand the range of print expression using analog technology, such as “Color Effect Control”, which can express six different colors by directly shining different colored light on the film according to the dial setting value equipped with an LED inside the camera, and “Vignette Mode”, which reduces peripheral light and focuses on the center. The effects of “Color Effect Control” and “Vignette Mode” that appear on the prints vary, depending on the shooting environment such as the brightness at the time of shooting.

In addition, the camera body has a matte leather-like texture that feels comfortable in the hand, and it features a classic design with a high-quality appearance and texture befitting a top-of-the-line model.
A new color (black) of camera case and photo album for mini-film will be released at the same time to match the color of the “mini 99” body. In addition, “PHOTO SLIDE,” a mini-format film with a motif of the “mount” used in developing photographic film, which further accentuates the print expression of “mini 99,” is scheduled to be released this summer.
INSTAX, the instant photo system affectionately known as “Cheki” in Japan, celebrated its 25th anniversary last year since its release in 1998. As times change, the company has adopted trends and evolving technologies, expanding its lineup to include not only analog instant cameras, but also hybrid instant cameras incorporating digital technology, and smartphone printers.
Furthermore, in October 2023, INSTAX will release the INSTAX Pal, the first palm-sized camera in the INSTAX series specialized for “photography.” INSTAX offers a variety of ways to enjoy photography, and is expanding its user base to include not only young women, but also men and middle-aged people.
