Roland will release the GO:PODCAST USB microphone on Saturday, May 25, 2024. This is a microphone which is compatible with video distribution apps and allows you to easily perform high-quality live streaming on your smartphone. The price is not yet determined.
Quick and easy setup
GO:PODCAST lets you start streaming right away on any iOS or Android device. Simply connect the microphone to the device with a USB-C cable and connect monitoring headphones or earphones to the stereo mini jack. Then, launch the GO:PODCAST app, set up the camera, and start streaming directly to Twitch, YouTube, and other streaming platforms.

Equipped with full-fledged shooting functions for a wide range of uses
You can flexibly set the shooting settings according to the purpose of the broadcast. For broadcasts in a dialogue format, you can use the rear camera for simultaneous recording (※1) to record the person you are talking to. You can also use another mobile device and install the camera app “Roland Satellite Camera” to use it as a wireless camera. In addition, you can share the gameplay screen of a smartphone or tablet (※2) to excite viewers with attractive gameplay. You can also record separate camera footage for editing or content creation.

The GO:PODCAST app also has many features to improve the quality of the video you stream. With intuitive controls, you can upgrade your video using split screens and picture-in-picture. You can also insert text for the title of the stream and images for subtitles. You can also use photos, background music, and video content stored on your mobile device.

High-quality sound and switchable directionality for different applications
The GO:PODCAST USB microphone is a full-range condenser type. It can record the streamer’s voice with a clear, warm, and easy-to-listen sound. It is equipped with a volume knob that allows you to adjust the microphone and headphone output levels. The dedicated stand provides high stability when the microphone is placed, reducing low-frequency noise.
In addition, it supports four different types of directivity, which is not available in general USB microphones for mobile devices. For content where one person is speaking, “cardioid” is not affected by sound from the back, “omnidirectional” captures sound from all directions and is suitable for recording the sound of the entire room, and “stereo” is suitable for two people facing each other in a conversation or for live musical performances.
In addition, the “left-right inverted stereo” function allows you to switch between left and right channels according to the camera’s orientation.
