Sigma will release its first APS-C size mirrorless dedicated zoom lens for Canon RF mount, the 18-50mm F2.8 DC DN | Contemporary, on July 11, 2024. The price on the company’s official online store is 79,200 yen which is approximately $499.
This lens is a large aperture F2.8 standard zoom lens that packs an easy-to-use zoom range of 28.8-80mm in 35mm equivalent, a brightness of F2.8 that allows you to enjoy bokeh, and sharp depiction realized by the latest optical design technology into a compact body. With a minimum shooting distance of 12.1 centimeters and a maximum shooting magnification of 1:2.8, it is possible to take advantage of the compact shooting system, such as shooting close to the subject.
It features a small, lightweight body that maximizes the excellent portability of APS-C mirrorless cameras. Despite its large aperture of F2.8, it is the smallest and lightest in its class with a maximum diameter of φ69.2mm, length of 74.5mm, and weight of 300g. It makes this a large aperture standard zoom that you can easily carry around with you on a daily basis.
