Teradek has announced the release of the CTRL.5, a highly customizable lens control handset powered by its proprietary operating system, CTRL.OS.
CTRL.OS is an evolution of sister company SmallHD’s award-winning software toolkit, PageOS.

The TERADEK CTRL.5 is the new centerpiece of the Teradek RT wireless lens control system. It combines a bright 5” SmallHD display with CTRL.OS, a customized version of SmallHD’s PageOS page-based software toolkit, designed especially for camera assistants and focus pullers.
About the TERADEK CTRL.5
A new graphic-rich Lens Mapping tool allows users to create, browse and select lenses that correspond to pre-printed focus rings, allowing for quick lens changes while shooting. Saved settings can then be accessed even faster using the touchscreen or any of the 11 programmable user buttons.
Hardware features include user adjustable friction knobs, interchangeable custom grips, interference-resistant FHSS 2.4GHz wireless, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, and like previous RT handsets, it supports SmallHD overlays via 5-pin USB so assistants never have to take their eyes off the monitor.
The touchscreen user interface is powered by CTRL.OS, making the CTRL.5 the first FIZ handset on the market with its own operating system. Users can customize a wide range of features including digital marks, auto calculations, focus scaling, pointer color customization, axis lock/unlock, metric/imperial unit selection (with pre-marked rings) and third-party rangefinder support.
Future integrations include WiFi camera control for RED cameras, expanded customization from third-party rangefinder systems, and more.
The CTRL.5 is fully compatible with the entire Teradek RT lens control ecosystem: it seamlessly integrates with MDR.S receivers, expandable MDR.X receivers, TOF.1 rangefinders, and MOTR.S and MOTR.S MAX lens motors, and is also compatible with legacy RT receivers and motors.
The CTRL.5 also has a wide range of accessories available separately, including the new Bolt-On Monitor Hinge Cube, Kickstand, Neck Strap, Hand Strap, and Hand Grip.
