What is the TASCAM CA-XLR2d
TASCAM’s “CA-XLR2d” is a groundbreaking XLR microphone adapter developed in collaboration with Canon, Fujifilm, and Nikon, which elevates video and audio recording with mirrorless cameras to professional quality.
When used with compatible Canon and Fujifilm cameras, it provides power via the accessory shoe and direct digital audio transmission without degradation of sound quality. Its built-in high-performance AD converter eliminates the need for external audio recording and synchronization, allowing clear digital audio to be recorded along with video.
The input section is equipped with two XLR/TRS combo terminals equipped with high-performance HDDA microphone preamps that are renowned in professional audio equipment. It also supports microphone/line level switching and +48V phantom power supply, allowing you to select the optimal professional microphone for the shooting scene, enabling high-quality audio recording with low noise and a wide dynamic range.
In addition, it is equipped with a 3.5mm stereo mini input terminal that supports plug-in power, allowing for flexible connection to a wider variety of microphone systems, such as gun microphones, lavalier microphones, and wireless microphone receivers.
Additionally, by using the included battery box and cold shoe mount adapter, the analog output ensures compatibility with a wide range of cameras, including Nikon.Even cameras that do not support digital connections can record audio by utilizing the unit’s high-quality preamp.
The top is equipped with a cold shoe for attaching additional microphones and accessories, and the included microphone holder has a shock mount mechanism that suppresses vibration noise, making it a professional specification that increases convenience on site.
