Lensbaby announced the upcoming release of the “Lensbaby Sweet 22” and “Lensbaby Twist 28” pancake lenses for Nikon Z mount on September 25, 2026. The Lensbaby Sweet is a manual focus lens characterized by a large, flowing bokeh at the edges, while the Twist 28 is characterized by a swirling bokeh. Both lenses have a slim design of approximately 38mm in thickness, allowing users to enjoy their distinctive rendering in snapshots and video shooting.
Lensbaby Sweet 22
The “Lensbaby Sweet 22” is a compact manual focus lens that produces a large, flowing bokeh effect around the edges of the image.
Among Lensbaby lenses, this one has a particularly small sweet spot (the area where the image is in focus), with a large bokeh effect spreading from the in-focus central area towards the periphery. It allows for a clear distinction between the in-focus and out-of-focus areas, making it suitable for portrait photography where you want to make the subject stand out.
This distinctive rendering can also be used for video recording, allowing for impressive visual expressions where the focus and bokeh change as the subject moves in and out of the sweet spot.
It features a fixed metal barrel and measures Φ73mm x 38.5mm. Weighing only 110g for the Nikon Z mount, it is small and lightweight, making it suitable for snapshot photography.
The aperture is fixed at F3.5 and it supports 46mm diameter filters. ND filters can be used to adjust exposure in bright environments.

Lensbaby Twist 28
The “Lensbaby Twist 28” is a wide-angle pancake lens that redesigns the original “Twist 60” swirling bokeh lens for mirrorless cameras. It allows users to enjoy the swirling bokeh and vintage-style rendering that characterizes the Twist series at a 28mm wide-angle. The lens utilize its distinctive bokeh expression in a wide range of shooting situations, including street photography, landscapes, and close-ups.
Additionally, this lens features a fixed metal barrel and measures Φ73mm x 38.5mm. The aperture is fixed at F3.5 and does not support filter attachment. Therefore, exposure must be adjusted using shutter speed and ISO sensitivity. The manufacturer recommends pairing it with a camera capable of high-speed shutter speeds for daytime outdoor photography.
*This product does not have electronic contacts, so focusing and other functions must be operated manually, and EXIF information is not saved.
The fixed F3.5 optical design provides sharp image quality in the center while a distinctive swirling bokeh effect spreads towards the periphery.
