CineGear Connect NY 2026 Program
Set in Brooklyn’s “Industry City,” the session lineup begins with ICG IATSE Local 600’s “Realizing the Shot: Relationships, Attitudes & Protocol.” Moderated by Michael Chambliss, Assistant Director of Western Region for ICG Local 600, the panelists include Local 600 Cinematographer (DP) Aaron Medic (SOC, responsible for seasons 1, 4, and 5 of ‘Mr. Robot,’ ‘Power,’ ‘Power Book II: Ghost,’ and ‘Power Book III: Raising Kanan’), Steadicam and A-Camera Operator Gareth Manwaring, and Camera Technician Michael Garofalo.
In this session, the hosts will delve into the interpersonal relationships, attitudes, and work procedures of the A-Team Union camera crew, exploring what makes them a unique strength in production.
Attendees will also get a behind-the-scenes look at the production by lighting technicians Noah Chamis (ICLS, *Murders in the Building*, *Count My Lies*, *You Deserve Each Other*, *Project Runway*) and Ryan Webb (ICLS, *Dexter: Resurrection*, *Joker: Folie à Dou*, *Ghostbusters: Frozen Summer*). They will discuss “Lighting That New York Look” with Michael Balinsky (Podcast *The Making Of*) as moderator.
After lunch, you can learn more about the agency system in your career at the “Got Agent? Got Publicist?” panel. After a break to view the exhibition booths, Zeiss will host a session with Madison Avenue photographer Douglas Double about his passion for capturing the perfect shot and transforming it into a perfect print.
As the grand finale session, Cine Gear Connect has announced an ASC panel. Cinematographers William Lexar (ASC), Claudia Raschke (ASC), Jeffrey Waldron (ASC), and Vanya Czernür (ASC) will join moderator Dejan Djordjevic (ASC) in “Cinematographers’ Creative Process – Deconstructing Scenes.”
To conclude the day, the “Cine Gear Industry Mixer” will be held from 5 PM. It is said to be the perfect opportunity to deepen relationships with colleagues and build new connections.
