Inter BEE 2024 is upon us! To ease everyone into this massive event, we came up with a series of walking tours. This is the INTER BEE 2024 Accessories Tour!
This is a course that takes you around booths that are all the rage when it comes to camera accessories. As for recorders, pay attention to the new products that support 32-bit float recording. The TASCAM “FR-AV2” is particularly popular among cameramen. Be sure to check out the improved shotgun microphone and the affordable optical transmitter.
Students are also welcome to join the tour! Contact us for more details.
INTER BEE 2024 Tour Stop 01: TASCAM/TEAC (#2523)
32-bit float recording 2-track portable recorder “TASCAM FR-AV2”
The FR-AV2, a 32-bit float compatible 2-channel portable field recorder/time code generator that went on sale on October 1st, is one to keep an eye on. Zoom’s small and lightweight 2-channel field recorder, the F3, was so popular that it became difficult to obtain, and the FR-AV2 has a similar product concept. The main difference is that it is equipped with a time code generator, which makes post-production easier, which is appealing. It is also characterized by its many functions, such as two XLR/TRS combo jacks and a color LCD monitor.
INTER BEE 2024 Tour Stop 02: AZDEN (#2601)
Phantom 48V compatible gun microphone “SGM-250LX”
Azden’s “SGM-250LX” is an L-shaped XLR compact cinema microphone that you should definitely check out. The currently available SGM-250CX uses a straight XLR connector, which can make the area around the cable look cluttered. The SGM-250LX features a special thin L-shaped connector that allows the microphone to be used as is, without having to remove it from the camera’s microphone area. Another convenient feature is that there is no need to unplug the microphone connector when storing the camera in a bag.
INTER BEE 2024 Tour Stop 03 RAID (##4001/#4504)
Optical transmitter “SIRIUS CAMERA ADAPTER”
Attention will be focused on the exhibit of “SIRIUS,” an optical transmission system jointly developed by RAID that extends cinema cameras to broadcast cameras. At NAB, it was announced that it was compatible with RED’s KOMODO, KOMODO-X, V-Raptor, and V-Raptor (XL), but at the exhibition at CREATORS EDGE 2024 in September this year, it was announced that it would also be compatible with FX6 and VENICE. It seems likely that the use of cinema cameras will progress in television program production sites where budgets and schedules are tight.
INTER BEE 2024 Tour Stop 04: Accsoon (#4506)
“CineView Master 4K”
If you are thinking about introducing a wireless video system, pay attention to the “CineView Master 4K”. Although 4K30P models have been released by various companies, the maximum 4K60P support is valuable. In addition, it features low latency, with a latency of 35 milliseconds when transmitting 4K. The receiver has both SDI and HDMI outputs, and the transmitter has an SDI input, HDMI input, and HDMI loop output. The function that allows you to monitor using your own iPhone is also convenient.
INTER BEE 2024 Tour Stop 05: MEDIAEDGE/ATOMOS (#7001)
“NINJA PHONE” – Turn your phone into a monitor
This is ATOMOS’ first smartphone accessory that can encode HDMI video into ProRes and display and record it on the iPhone 15 Pro or Pro Max monitor. It’s convenient to be able to check the video using the iPhone monitor, which is arguably the highest quality in the world. It supports 4K and HD recording, as well as H.265 10-bit HDR recording and streaming. Support for Android has already been announced, so keep an eye on developments at Inter BEE.
