Marumi has started the distribution of the “Super water repellent UWR clear lens cover” that repels water droplets and prevents reflection in images. The lineup, release date, and suggested retail price are as follows.
- 77mm : Released on June 14, 2023: 8,360 yen including tax
- 82mm : On sale June 14, 2023: 8,800 yen including tax
- 105mm : Released in late June 2023: 16,500 yen including tax
This lens cover’s water repellency is due to a resin with a moth-eye structure that has minute projections on the surface. The resin surface prevents raindrops and water droplets from being reflected in the video during outdoor video coverage and location shooting.
