Adobe has announced the release of the Premiere Pro June 2023 update. Premiere Pro 23.5 introduces new metadata and timecode burn-in effects, BRAW plugin installation guidance, critical fixes, quality and performance improvements, and more.
Effect Controls allow users to display useful clip metadata for reference during editing, send to an external monitor, or include with media when exporting. This much-requested feature takes timecode burn-in to the next level, allowing you to view detailed metadata and share details with collaborating editors.
Guide to installing the BRAW plugin
If you use Blackmagic RAW, plugins are now available to transcode BRAW. There is now improved displays to help for searching and installing required plug-ins within Premiere Pro when loading BRAW.
Improved timeline scrubbing and playback
Optimized the functionality of the working timeline. By consistently dragging the playhead smoothly and precisely, the cursor can be perfectly aligned to the frame.
Easily track save and sync status of Team Projects
Team Projects cloud icons let you track project save and sync status while collaborating. Selecting the cloud icon updates the tooltip with details such as when Team Projects was last synced and whether there were any changes saved locally pending syncing.
The cloud icon also indicates the connection status (connected/disconnected), and if your internet connection is lost, the tooltip will store any changes you make locally and will sync once you restore your internet connection. A notification will appear stating that You’ll always be the first to know what’s going on in Team Projects, regardless of your connection status.
Choosing an autosave location for Team Projects
Improved the ability to specify a location on the local system to save the Team Projects autosave cache. As changes are made as you work, Team Projects automatically saves in the background to a location you specify.
Team Projects auto-saves every edit you make in a project, so nothing gets left behind.
