Blackmagic Design has released DaVinci Resolve Version 18.6.4. It can be downloaded free of charge from the company’s website.
In this update, Blackmagic Design added transcription controls to the Media Bin. This new addition is helpful in allowing users to quickly transcribe media and search for clips based on keywords in the audio. Additionally, this update adds an information column to the media pool that displays the users who uploaded shared clips. This information can be helpful when collaborating on a project. Users know now who to contact if they need details or other information about each clip.
When viewing clips in the Lightbox workspace, users can now categorize clips by color. This will display footage and groups flagged with color markers in the Lightbox thumbnail grid. DaVinci Resolve also now preserves camera RAW settings when backing up the timeline. This means that when there is a need to restore a timeline backup, camera RAW adjustments are also saved, so you don’t have to repeat previous work.
Additionally, when adding audio tracks in Fairlight, automation visibility is now maintained on each clip, allowing users to play and modify those clips with automation applied.
