Adobe released the Premiere Pro release update “24.6,” the August 2024 update. Adobe Premiere Pro August 2024 update now lets you search for sound effects directly in the Essential Sound panel, including thousands of free files from Adobe Stock. It also now lets you work natively with Linear Timecode (LTC) if you need to sync video and audio files. Plus, it adds support for the Canon EOS R5 Mark II and EOS R1 cameras.
Access free stock audio within Premiere Pro
You can now search for sound effects directly within Premiere Pro, including thousands of free files from Adobe Stock. Filter music and sound effects by “Free” or “Premium” categories and license tracks while you edit.
With Timeline Sync, pressing the play button on a music track or sound effect in the Essential Sound panel will begin playing the media on the timeline, allowing you to preview your cues in the context of your edit to pinpoint which tracks will work best.
Linear Time Code (LTC) support
Precisely synchronize multiple video and audio from devices that encode timecode into the audio signal. LTC can be used to synchronize clips or to create multi camera source sequences.
LTC becomes more useful because many newer, more affordable devices do not support recording timecode as metadata in video files. A common solution is to store the timecode data in an audio track. This track is audible to the human ear, but it is not a “normal” sound, but a high-pitched tone that contains the data. Many low-cost timecode synchronization devices can generate LTC.
Expanded Canon support
This new update works natively with Canon EOS R5 Mark II and EOS R1 cameras. Import your files and start editing immediately.
Other Updates
Removed the Legacy Effects folder and plug-ins, the Legacy Transitions folder and plug-ins, and any presets created from Legacy Effects. These effects and transitions have faster and more modern alternatives provided by Premiere Pro or third parties.
These effects can significantly slow down your projects and create performance bottlenecks. In addition to modern alternatives to outdated effects and transitions within Premiere Pro, you can also use third party effects, transitions and filters.
