Canon announced the upcoming release of the RF75-300mm F4-5.6 telephoto zoom lens as a new product in the RF lens series of interchangeable lenses for the EOS R system in late May 2025. This lens is designed to be for users who want to enjoy telephoto photography casually.
Canon RF75-300mm F4-5.6 Features
The RF75-300mm F4-5.6 is a telephoto zoom lens aimed at users who want to capture scenes that are difficult to capture with a standard zoom lens, or those looking to step up from a smartphone or compact digital camera.
The lens is small and lightweight, making it easy to carry when traveling or taking pictures outdoors, and allows users to enjoy telephoto photography. In addition, by utilizing the optical design of the “EF75-300mm f/4-5.6 III” (released in April 1999) and commercializing it as an RF mount, it has been made available at an affordable price.

This lens not only supports scenes where you want to capture a close-up shot of a subject from a distance, but also landscape photos that take advantage of the fact that the distance between the subject and background appears compressed, expanding the range of photography available to users.

Canon RF75-300mm F4-5.6 Highlights
Telephoto zoom lens covering focal lengths from 75mm to 300mm
It covers the telephoto range of focal lengths from 75mm to 300mm. It can be used in a variety of situations, including not only when you want to capture a close-up of a subject, such as photographing animals or wild birds that run away when you get too close, taking pictures of people from a distance at athletic meets or recitals, or taking pictures of sports at a stadium, but also when you want to make the subject stand out by taking advantage of the bokeh.
Furthermore, when combined with an APS-C size camera, it enables ultra-telephoto shooting with a focal length equivalent to 120mm to 480mm in 35mm format, making it possible to photograph wild birds, airplanes, and other objects.
Compact and lightweight design for excellent portability, suitable for a wide range of shooting scenes
Despite being a telephoto zoom lens, it has a compact and lightweight design with a total length of approximately 146.1 mm and a weight of approximately 507g, which is about the same as a 500ml plastic bottle of drink. In addition, when combined with the EOS R100 (released in June 2023), the lightest in the EOS R series, the weight is approximately 863g, easy to carry around.
Furthermore, taking advantage of its compact and lightweight design, you can enjoy easy photography not only when shooting still images but also when shooting video.
