Fujifilm Corporation announced the release of the “instax mini Evo Cinema.” This is a new model in the “Evo Series” of instax hybrid instant cameras. Release date is schedule for January 30, 2026. A camera case for the instax mini Evo Cinema will also be released on the same day.
The Evo series is a hybrid instant camera that allows you to take photos while viewing the monitor on the back of the camera, select and print your favorite images, and create immersive photos with a variety of effects.
What is the instax mini Evo Cinema?
The newly released “mini Evo Cinema” can shoot videos in addition to still images. The video data is converted into a QR code *Note 1 , and a still image extracted from the video is printed as an Instax print, making it an instant camera that “lets you hand over the video.” By turning videos into Instax prints, not only can you keep a tangible record of the various scenes you spent with your loved ones, but you can also easily watch the video anytime by clicking the QR code.
Another new feature is “Zidial,” which lets you experience effects inspired by various eras. You can choose from 10 different Zidial effects, including “1960,” which is inspired by 8mm film cameras. Each effect can be adjusted in 10 steps, allowing for a total of 100 different effects. With effects that evoke the unique flavor of each era, you can shoot extraordinary and special videos and still images, as if you’ve traveled back in time.
The camera body is held vertically, reminiscent of the Fujica Single-8, an 8mm camera that the company released in 1965. The company says that its meticulous design and analogue operation will enhance the enjoyment of shooting and printing.
The dedicated app *Note 2 allows you to combine and edit the videos you’ve taken, and add movie-like opening and closing templates to make your videos even more special. It also comes with a “direct print function” that allows you to print images from your smartphone.
The mini Evo Cinema is a three-in-one camera that can not only shoot videos and still images, but can also be used as a smartphone printer.
The company says it will continue to expand the world of its instax instant photo system, which allows users to “enjoy printing photos immediately after taking them.”

The camera is said to expand the enjoyment of photography and printing with its attention to detail and analog operation feel, such as the “Dial” that has an appealing click feeling transmitted to your fingertips, and the “Print Lever” that can be operated with the same sensation as winding film by hand.
