Sony announced the release of two new SRG 4K60p PTZ auto-framing cameras in early 2027: the SRG-AS10, which uses its proprietary AI-powered PTZ auto-framing function to automatically recognize and track subjects for natural-looking shots, and the SRG-XS10, a basic 4K pan-tilt camera.
Both models are suitable for a wide range of applications, including online classes, corporate content creation, and sports photography. They feature a 1/2.8-inch 4K image sensor equipped with Sony’s proprietary “STARVIS™” technology, enabling clear video capture even in low light conditions. Furthermore, the design prioritizes smooth panning and tilting movements, resulting in natural camera work from start to finish.
Equipped with a high-magnification 10x optical zoom, the zoom can be extended up to 20x by using the teleconvert mode *. It can handle a wide range of shooting distances, from close up to the back of the hall, when shooting in concert halls, theaters, gymnasiums, etc.
*Teleconvert mode is only available for Full HD resolution. Teleconvert mode is not available for 4K resolution.
Furthermore, its compact and lightweight design, which blends seamlessly into any space, allows it to be installed in a variety of environments, including extremely small spaces where a photographer cannot be positioned, such as classrooms, conference rooms, and backstage areas, while still capturing high-definition video that clearly captures people’s facial expressions.
Main features of “SRG-AS10”
The latest “PTZ auto-framing function” and smooth, natural automatic shooting.
With its unique “PTZ auto-framing function,” the camera automatically tracks subjects such as people and adjusts the composition automatically while shooting. This camera enables shooting that is not dependent on the personnel or skills of the camera operator, tailored to each shooting scene, such as online classes, content creation for internal and external corporate audiences (“multi-person framing function”), and sports photography (“ball games (basketball) mode”).
- Equipped with “Ball Games (Basketball) Mode”:
The “Ball Games Mode” enables automatic shooting of basketball games, supporting automatic overhead shots of full-court basketball games played indoors. The camera recognizes the court area and tracks not only the players but also the fast and irregular movement of the ball, enabling accurate video capture of the game’s progression. - “Multi-Person Framing Function”:
Adjusts the frame to accommodate up to 8 specified people simultaneously, resulting in a natural composition. Supports stable shooting in scenes featuring multiple people, such as corporate conferences, panel discussions, weddings, and various ceremonies.
1/2.8-inch 4K image sensor equipped with Sony’s proprietary STARVIS technology
It employs a 1/2.8-inch 4K image sensor equipped with STARVIS, suppressing noise even in dark places and achieving clear images. In addition, the smooth motion rendering of 4K60p makes it possible to accurately capture not only natural human movements but also fast action and fine movements in sports and other activities.
A highly flexible setup and shooting method that can accommodate a wide range of scenes.
With its compact and lightweight design that blends seamlessly into any space, and its ability to be mounted on both a tripod and ceiling, it can be easily installed in a variety of environments, such as lecture halls, conference rooms, studios, auditoriums, and sports venues, making it usable in virtually any location.
In addition to SDI and HDMI outputs, it comes pre-installed with NDI HX2 and supports IP streaming such as RTSP, RTMP, and SRT, enabling remote production via an IP network.
Furthermore, it supports PoE++, allowing power, video, and control signals to be transmitted together over a single LAN cable, enabling the construction of a simple and highly scalable system that supports use in a variety of settings. In addition, it can be intuitively operated from tablets and PCs using a web browser-based user interface (Web UI).
