PolarPro unveiled the “SPLIT 50 filter,” a split-type diopter filter that allows users to divide the focus of their compositions. Pre-orders are being accepted, with shipments scheduled to begin in mid-May 2026. The product comes in the following thread sizes: 49mm, 67mm, 77mm, 82mm, and the Split Filter Helix MagLock.

Two different focal planes within a single frame

The SPLIT 50 filter features a diopter design on one side, which magnifies the image for close-up photography while maintaining the original focal plane on the other. As a result, both focal planes maintain sharpness, producing a controlled split image with natural depth of field and smooth bokeh.
It’s possible to create unique compositions by simultaneously focusing on both the foreground and background, or by creating foreground bokeh effects.

The simultaneous presence of two moments within an image can visually highlight important details and effectively convey a sense of tension and the presence of the subject to the viewer.

With a rotating mechanism, the focal plane can be fully controlled.
The SPLIT 50 filter features a 360-degree rotatable design, allowing for precise positioning within the camera. By guiding the viewer’s attention to the subject, you can freely control depth, contrast, harmony, and tension.
Available in 5 sizes
The SPLIT 50 will be available in five sizes: 49mm, 67mm, 77mm, and 82mm screw-in filters, as well as PolarPro’s Helix MagLock filter system, which enables ultra-fast filter attachment and removal.
