Canon, “EOS C70” Firmware Update Released. Enables Eye Detection.

Canon has released the latest firmware for its EOS C70 full-frame mirrorless camera. It can be downloaded from the company’s website. The changes in the firmware are as follows.

The following is quoted from the Canon software download page:

■Firmware Version 1.0.5.1

  1. Support for EF Cinema Lens CN8×15 IAS S/E1.

  2. Support for EF Cinema Lens CN-E20-50mm T2.4 LF.

  3. Added support for EF Cinema Lens CN-E45-135mm T2.4 LF. – Metadata (focal length, F value, lens model name)-T value display supported – Peripheralillumination correction/magnification chromatic aberration correction- “Dual Pixel Focus Guide” function supported

  4. Compatible with RF lens RF-S18-45mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM and RF lens RF-S18-150mm F3.5-6.3 IS STM.-Added [Focus/Control Ring] and [Lens Optics IS] menus for switching lens functions.

  5. Compatible with Canon IP XC Protocol.

  6. XF-AVC 4K Intra 60P/50P can now be recorded to an SD card.

  7. Eye detection is now possible.

  8. When set to S&F (when set to 24P-120P), eye detection, face detection and tracking are now possible.

  9. 4ch display of the audio meter is now possible.

  10. Fixed so that recording settings are retained when switching between normal and S&F shooting.

  11. Added [Canon 709/BT.709] to Gamma/Color Space of Custom Picture.

  12. [CMT 709] has been added to the LUT and Proxy recording color conversion options.

  13. Added [CMT 709] to View Assist.

  14. Added [G Gain] to White Balance in Custom Picture.
