
Canon released the latest firmware for its CINEMA EOS SYSTEM camera line: the EOS R5 C, EOS C50, EOS C70, EOS C80, and EOS C400. The firmware can be downloaded from the company’s support page.
All models now support the CINE-SERVO lens, the “CN30×40 IAS J”. Furthermore, the EOS C80 and EOS C400 have been improved with enhanced functionality and operational stability, including the addition of a new “Cinema Exposure” function that adjusts the balance of the dynamic range according to the ISO sensitivity.
Canon CINEMA EOS Camera Firmware Update Overview
■ EOS R5 C Firmware Version 1.1.3.1
- It is compatible with CINE-SERVO lenses “CN30×40 IAS J/R1” (RF mount) and “CN30×40 IAS J/P1” (PL mount).
- The color of the level indicator has been changed so that it is horizontal when the camera is oriented horizontally.
- When playing back RAW clips in media mode, the lens corrections, such as distortion correction, that were set during RAW recording are now reflected.
- Fixed an issue where it was sometimes impossible to connect to the FTP server.
- Fixed an issue where the camera might not be recognized when connected to a smartphone via USB.
- Other improvements include enhanced operational stability.
EOS C50 Firmware Version 1.0.5.1
- It is compatible with CINE-SERVO lenses “CN30×40 IAS J/R1” (RF mount) and “CN30×40 IAS J/P1” (PL mount).

Canon EOS C70 Firmware Version 1.1.4.1
- It is compatible with CINE-SERVO lenses “CN30×40 IAS J/R1” (RF mount) and “CN30×40 IAS J/P1” (PL mount).
- When connecting to an external device using the XC protocol, if the T value is 10 or greater, only the integer part will be displayed to the external device.
- Fixed an issue where it was sometimes impossible to connect to the FTP server.

EOS C80 Firmware Version 1.0.7.1
- A new [Capture Mode] has been added, allowing users to select the new [Cinema Exposure] function in addition to the existing [Custom Picture].
- In [Cinema Exposure], you can change the balance of the dynamic range (the distribution of the high-brightness and low-brightness ranges) according to the ISO sensitivity.
- It is compatible with CINE-SERVO lenses “CN30×40 IAS J/R1” (RF mount) and “CN30×40 IAS J/P1” (PL mount).
- Added the option to enable external audio output during slow and fast motion recording [External Audio Output during S&F].
- By setting the value to “On,” audio can be output to an external output (SDI/HDMI/headphone).
- Other improvements include enhanced operational stability.
EOS C400 Firmware Version 1.0.7.1
- A new [Capture Mode] has been added, allowing users to select the new [Cinema Exposure] function in addition to the existing [Custom Picture].

- [Automatic Exposure Ramping Correction] has been added to [Camera Settings]. By performing gain correction within the camera according to the zoom position, the brightness of the image can be maintained.
