Sony has begun offering “Monitor & Control,” a wireless monitoring app that can be operated from smartphones and tablets. This app is slated to be available for free. Compatible operating systems are iOS, iPadOS, and Android.
This app turns smartphones or tablets into a video shooting monitor and remote control. Users can wirelessly connect their smartphone or tablet to the camera and use it as a second monitor. Waveforms and histograms can be displayed on the screen. It also has other functionalities that can be used in the field of video production.
The app also has a focus control function, which controls camera focus from tablet or smartphone screens.
Version 1.0 supports FX6 (Ver3.00 or higher), FX3 (Ver4.00 or higher), and FX30 (Ver3.00 or higher). It is also planned to be compatible with BURANO, which is scheduled to be released in spring 2024.
