The Panasonic Lumix G9 PRO II mirrorless camera has had its firmware upgraded to version 2.0. This update supports various shooting functions, and can be downloaded from the Panasonic support site.
The contents of this update are as follows.
HMDI video RAW data output
12bit video RAW data of 5.7K, C4K, 5.8K (4:3), 4.4K (4:3) can be output and transferred to ATOMOS’s “NINJA V”, “NINJA V+”, “NINJA”, “NINJA ULTRA” “SHOGUN”, “SHOGUN ULTRA”, “SHOGUN CONNECT”*, and Blackmagic Design “Blackmagic Video Assist 12G HDR” recorder. This software upgrade also enables recording in Apple ProRes RAW (ATOMOS recorder) and Blackmagic RAW (Blackmagic Design recorder), which are effective for editing and grading during post-production, strengthening post-production capabilities and enhancing video production workflows. support.
Remember, all require updating to the latest firmware.
Set RAW image mode on Panasonic Lumix G9 PRO II
By setting “HDMI RAW data output”, the list of image quality modes (number of pixels/frame rate) in the “Video quality” menu is replaced with a list that allows RAW output.
Preparing LUT for V-Log/V-Gamut conversion
Apple ProRes RAW data recorded with ATOMOS NINJA V/NINJA V+/NINJA/NINJA ULTRA/SHOGUN/SHOGUN ULTRA/SHOGUN CONNECT can be color graded using compatible editing software. Furthermore, this update installed a dedicated LUT that allows users to edit video RAW data with software in the same colors as V-Log/V-Gamut. Color grading can be performed by converting to the familiar V-Log/V-Gamut hues, making it easy to match images with Panasonic’s VARICAM series of cinema cameras and the LUMIX S series of full-frame mirrorless single-lens cameras.
View assist support when outputting video RAW data
To check the output video RAW data, this update displays the image equivalent to V-Log shooting on the monitor or viewfinder. Furthermore, by setting “V-Log View Assist”, users can use “LUT View Assist (Monitor)” with preset Vlog_709 applied.
Other bug fixes were completed with this upgrade.
