Fujifilm will release the instax WIDE 400, an analog instant camera based on the instax series, on July 19, 2024. The suggested retail price is $149 US Dollars.
The instax WIDE 400 is the successor to the “instax WIDE 300” released in 2014. The WIDE 400 is an analog instant camera that is compatible with “wide format film.” This film is twice the size of card-sized mini format film.
In addition to the simple operation of just turning the lens, turning the power on, holding the camera and pressing the shutter button, the newly equipped lever-operated self-timer makes it easy to take group shots, making wide-format Instax prints even more enjoyable. A camera case that matches the body color of the “WIDE 400” will also be released at the same time.
Since its launch in 1998, the instant photo system instax has been incorporating trends and evolving technologies with the times. In addition to analog instant cameras, the lineup has been expanded to include hybrid instant cameras incorporating digital technology, smartphone printers, and palm-sized cameras. Instax also offers three types of instax “Cheki” film: card-sized “mini format film,” “square format film” that takes square photos, and “wide format film” that is twice as wide as mini format film. Instax offers a variety of ways to enjoy photography, and is expanding its user base to include not only young women, but also men and middle-aged people.
Main features of the “instax WIDE 400”
Analog instant camera compatible with wide-format film
A simply designed analog instant camera compatible with wide-format film. All you have to do is turn the lens, turn the power on, hold the camera and press the shutter button to enjoy taking pictures.
After turning the lens to turn it on, turning it in the same direction will switch to landscape mode. This mode allows users to take clear pictures of distant subjects more than 3m away. In addition, by attaching the included close-up lens, you can get up to 40cm away and take close-up shots.
NEW Lever-operated self-timer for an analog feel
The front of the camera is equipped with a lever-operated self-timer. When you turn the lever, the LEDs light up in sequence, and you can set the self-timer to up to 10 seconds. When you press the shutter button, the countdown begins, and the LEDs go out one by one every two seconds. You can easily take group photos while enjoying the operation of turning the lever and the timer sound.
Convenient accessories included for self-timer shooting
By using the included “camera angle adjustment accessory,” you can place the camera and enjoy shooting with the self-timer easily without a tripod. Two different angles can be set to suit the height of the subject.
