Sony has announced a firmware roadmap that will enhance the functionality of its new BURANO CineAlta cinematic camera. The updates scheduled for the Burano include live broadcast operation and slow-motion shooting.

■ New features and improvements
- Supports S700 protocol (Ethernet connection) and can be remotely controlled from Sony remote control panels (RCP series)
- Added 1.5x de-squeeze display function when using anamorphic lenses
- Added a function to display the adjustment color range when using the multi-matrix correction function.
- Improved image quality and latency when used in combination with “Monitor & Control” (Ver. 2.0.0), multi-camera monitoring function (up to 4 cameras, iPadOS 16.0 or later required), Waveform/Zebra/False Color/Histgram display function added, etc.

- Improved so that the camera status for external output can be displayed on the SDI output when recording in XAVC.
- Changed the layout of the camera status display on external output (changed from being displayed over the recorded image to not being displayed over the image)
- Added selectable fps in S&Q HFR (66, 72, 75, 88, 90, 96, 110fps)
- X-OCN 16:9 Imager scan mode 24.00fps additional
- Imager Scan Mode FF Crop 6K Image Stabilization Active/High selectable
- 1.8x de-squeeze display function when using anamorphic lenses
- Added high/low key function to make it easier to see highlights and shadows in the high and low brightness ranges
- Increased white balance memory positions (from 3 to 8)
- Added gamma display assist function that makes the VF look equivalent to 709 when S-Log3 is selected
- Added information to metadata recorded on X-OCN (breathing correction and camera shake correction information)
