Canon’s PowerShot compact digital camera series has offered a wide range of models to meet the diverse needs of users since the launch of the first model, the PowerShot 600, in July 1996. Developed with the aim of making it easier to enjoy high-quality still images and videos, the PowerShot series is popular with a wide range of users, from beginners to advanced amateurs. By December 2025, the cumulative production of compact digital cameras, including the IXY series, exceeded 200 million units.

Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark III 30th Anniversary Model
To commemorate the 30th anniversary of the PowerShot series, the company will release a special edition PowerShot G7 X Mark III. The PowerShot G7 X Mark III (released in August 2019) is a compact digital camera featuring a 1.0-inch stacked CMOS sensor with approximately 20.1 effective megapixels (total pixel count is approximately 20.9 megapixels) and a large-aperture, bright 4.2x optical zoom lens. In addition to still image capture, it also features a “Video Blog” shooting mode specifically designed for vlogging, allowing for comfortable video recording.
This 30th anniversary model features a limited edition “graphite” color for the camera body and a twill pattern on the control ring, creating a design that exudes luxury and high quality. In addition, the 30th anniversary logo is printed on the body, creating a special feeling befitting a commemorative model.
