Panasonic Entertainment & Communications Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Panasonic), in collaboration with its KAIROS Alliance partners, has decided to deliver the “KAIROS” IT/IP platform to a total of seven customers around the world.
The Panasonic KAIROS that has been selected for delivery is compatible with broadcast controllers (BCCs), which are essential for broadcast stations. It is a CPU/GPU-based open architecture product, and is characterized by its easy integration with external devices and systems from other companies. For this reason, since the product was first offered, the company has been working consistently with IT and video-related manufacturers and suppliers to expand and integrate the KAIROS system and make it compatible with the latest technology in order to support video production in the broadcasting and video industries.
In this latest development, KAIROS’s features, such as the high expandability of the system itself and flexible input/output that supports both ST 2110 and baseband, are being utilized by the BCC, which oversees the entire broadcasting station, to promote the automation of operations and contribute to the efficiency of the BCC’s entire system, and ultimately its broadcasting operations.
In collaboration with alliance partners MAGNUM-OS from Evertz, Cerebrum from EVS, and VSM Broadcast Control System from Lawo, KAIROS has been selected to be delivered to a total of seven locations around the world (one broadcasting station in Japan, three broadcasting stations in Europe, one sports management company, one event company, and one financial company in the United States).
In addition, by 2024, four years after the launch of KAIROS, the number of companies participating as KAIROS Alliance Partners will reach 50, and collaboration will be taking place in various areas.
The new companies joining in 2024 commented as follows:
