Panasonic Corporation developed three new color adjustment functions to further enhance the image expression of its 4K studio cameras: “Color Temperature Blend Function,” “Color Specified Color Correction Function,” and “High Saturation Suppression Function.”
These features contribute more precise color expression than ever before in diverse video production environments, such as live events utilizing LED walls, broadcast studios, and virtual productions.
This feature is scheduled to be available in November 2026 via a firmware update for the 4K studio camera AK-UCX100 and the 4K multi-purpose camera AK-UBX100.

Development Background
In recent years, the use of LED walls in video production and the production of live events utilizing diverse lighting effects have been rapidly expanding. However, in actual operational environments, multiple types of light sources are often mixed together, making it increasingly difficult to reproduce the intended colors and achieve natural-looking depictions of people.
Furthermore, when displaying corporate logos, sponsor colors, and highly saturated colors on LED walls, balancing the color reproduction between the subjects on stage and the images on the LED wall can sometimes require considerable time and effort.
To address these challenges, Panasonic has developed new color adjustment functions, making it easier for video producers to achieve the color expression they desire.
Panasonic Color Adjustment Functions Main Features
Color temperature blending function enables natural color reproduction even in multi-light source environments.
In many productions, it has become common to shoot in environments where LED walls and stage lighting are used together. However, when the light sources have different color temperatures, the color reproduction of people and subjects can become unnatural.
Conventional white balance settings can only have one reference color temperature information, so it was necessary to choose between using the image on the LED wall or the stage lighting as the reference. In many cases, color matching was done using the stage lighting as the reference, but in that case, the difference in color temperature with the image on the LED wall sometimes resulted in an unnatural color.
The “Color Temperature Blending Function” stores color temperature information acquired from both the LED wall and stage lighting as reference data, and blends it to generate the optimal white balance according to the shooting environment. This enables image expression that takes into account the differences in color temperature in multiple light source environments, enhancing the sense of unity between realistic subjects and images on the LED wall.
This supports the creation of natural and seamless video footage in shooting environments that utilize LED walls.

Color selection color correction function easily adjusts desired colors.
The “Color Selection Color Correction Function” allows you to specify a particular color and adjust its hue and saturation individually. For example, it can pinpoint and correct the color of a company’s brand color displayed on an LED wall, a sponsor’s logo, or a specific color used in stage effects, without affecting the overall color reproduction of the video.
This feature allows you to set up to three color tables simultaneously, enabling you to optimize multiple important colors individually. This facilitates improved reproduction of brand colors and color expression that matches the intended visuals, supporting more efficient on-site color matching and high-quality video production.

High-saturation suppression function naturally controls vibrant color expression.
Live events and concert venues often utilize LED displays with vibrant CG imagery. However, extremely high-saturation, vivid colors can sometimes cause unnatural color reproduction or color saturation in camera footage.
The “High Saturation Suppression Function” achieves high-quality image expression by suppressing color shift and saturation in highly saturated areas while maintaining the overall color reproduction of the image.

The company states that it will continue to work closely with video production sites, providing new value in video production by developing functions that support the improvement of creators’ expressive abilities and the streamlining of production processes.
Furthermore, Panasonic plans on showcasing Color Adjustment Functions at their booth at IBC2026 (International Broadcasting Convention 2026), Europe’s largest broadcasting equipment exhibition, to be held in Amsterdam, Netherlands from September 11th to 14th, 2026.
