True Lens Services (TLS) announced the launch of a rehousing service for Olympus OM lenses, enabling them to adapt classic lenses designed by Yoshihisa Yoneya for modern filmmaking applications.
The Olympus OM series lenses, which first appeared in the early 1970s, have been praised for their compact design and excellent optical performance. Their sharpness and natural depiction have earned them support from film manufacturers, but the original still camera lens barrels did not meet the durability and operability required in modern cinema production.
With this rehousing, TLS aims to combine the vintage imaging characteristics of Olympus OM lenses with the performance of a modern cine lens.

Maintaining the floating mechanism ensures image quality across the entire range
Many OM lenses use a floating mechanism to maintain sharpness depending on the focus distance. TLS claims that, with some exceptions (50mm macro), this floating mechanism will be maintained even after rehousing. This ensures consistent resolution and contrast across the entire focus range.
Variable cam design enables highly accurate focus control
All rehoused OM lenses will feature a variable cam focus mechanism, which shifts focus slowly near infinity and more sensitively at closer focal lengths, allowing the focus puller to operate with high precision throughout the entire set.
Compatible with 18mm to 135mm
TLS rehousing for Olympus OM lenses is compatible with lenses from 18mm to 135mm. You can either send your existing lens for rehousing or purchase a rehoused lens directly.
