Cosina Corporation announced the release of the “Voigtlander APO-SKOPAR 75mm F2.8 VM,” a new interchangeable lens compatible with Leica M mounts. Cosina runs the Voigtländer brand, which it designs, develops, and manufactures itself. This lens debuted on May 27, 2026.
Voigtlander APO-SKOPAR 75mm F2.8 VM Product overview
The Voigtlander APO-SKOPAR 75mm F2.8 VM mount is a manual focus medium telephoto lens optimized for full-frame M-mount sensors. Its simple design, which extends the entire lens, and its limited aperture of F2.8 allow for a compact size—a filter diameter of 43mm and a total length of 44mm (from the mount surface)—comparable to a standard lens, despite its medium telephoto capabilities.
The newly designed optical system effectively uses special glass (anomalous partial dispersion glass) in four of its six groups and seven elements to correct chromatic aberration. High image quality is achieved by employing an apochromatic design, which aims to bring axial chromatic aberration, the cause of color fringing, as close to zero as possible.
Weighing just 191g, this lens offers excellent portability and eliminates vignetting when used with optical rangefinder cameras. It was designed as an ideal medium telephoto lens that combines high performance with compactness.

The lens barrel is made entirely of metal, and the helicoid component is precisely machined for silky-smooth operation, allowing for precise manual focusing. The minimum focusing distance is 0.7m, and the rangefinder coupling distance is also 0.7m (this may vary depending on the camera it is mounted on).
Furthermore, it can be attached to Sony E-mount, Fujifilm X-mount, and Nikon Z-mount digital cameras via the company’s mount adapters. Two exterior finishes are available: silver and black. A dedicated dome-shaped metal hood is included, designed with a protrusion of only 3mm to eliminate interference with the camera’s viewfinder frame when attached.
