Adobe often collaborates with ULTRA JAPAN events, which are loved by many highly creative people, and has teamed up with ULTRA JAPAN again this year to create a creative project that will allow participants to enjoy ULTRA JAPAN 2023 even more during the September event. This project will be rolled out over half a year. ULTRA JAPAN 2023 will be held at TOKYO ODAIBA ULTRA PARK (Odaiba ULTRA JAPAN special venue) for two days, September 16th (Sat) and 17th (Sun), 2023.
ULTRA MUSIC FESTIVAL: The world’s largest “urban” dance music festival
The ULTRA MUSIC FESTIVAL (hereafter referred to as UMF), which celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2018, started in Miami in 1999 and sparked a dance music festival boom. It is characterized by a style in which the world’s top DJs show off their best performances one after another at a venue in the area of everyday life that you can look up from a skyscraper.
At the UMF held on March 24th (Friday) to 26th (Sunday), 2023, popular artists such as Afrojack, Alesso, Armin van Buuren, Hardwell, Martin Garrix, Nicky Romero, Swedish House Mafia, Tiësto, Zedd, etc. appeared on the hot stage in Miami and as usual, the event was a huge success.
Second collaboration: VJ VIDEO CREATION CONTEST
Adobe and ULTRA are looking for motion graphics (VJ materials) using Adobe After Effects for the music and logo of “Fuyajo,” which will be broadcast at the venue of ULTRA JAPAN 2023.
The award-winning works will be projected on the ULTRA JAPAN 2023 stage on the day of the event. Commemorative photos will also be taken with the winners’ works from the main stage area with the VJ works in the background.
Contest overview
The requirements are are motion graphics (VJ material) of 15 to 30 seconds in length, using the music and logo of “Fuyajo,” specifically edited using Adobe After Effects.

About logo usage
The nightless castle logo is an Adobe Illustrator Ai file, so you can customize it freely. You can freely express the color of the letters, the borders, the way they are illuminated, the way they are separated, and the like, such as in 3D.

COSMIC LAB commented on the production as follows.
Invited by the song “Fuyajou,” people and technology, light and sound, and various elements meet and fuse to create a scene that continues to generate new energy beyond the limits of creativity. I think those limits are gone. In addition, the long-awaited revolutionary evolution of the track matte dramatically improved work efficiency and enabled more precise control of effects. This was one of my impressions.
COSMIC LAB also has some encouragement for applicants:
First, imagine your ideal VJ stage and audience. If you do a little searching, you should be able to find a way to make the picture that pops into your head a reality, and you’ll be able to find support from senior creators around the world and After Effects.

2. Create a video of 15 to 30 seconds based on the song and logo of Nightless City
3. Post
- The work should be published on Twitter with the hashtag “#ULTRA_Adobe”.
- Follow the Twitter account @creativecloudjp so that you can receive communication from the campaign secretariat when applying.
- The final product data is ProRes (.mov).
- SNS posting (for application) is posted in mp4.

Announcement of winners
Winners will be announced on Adobe’s blog around the end of August (the schedule may change).
About examination
All qualifying Submissions will be reviewed by a panel of judges consisting of Adobe and Adobe’s designated representatives.

- Entrant must be the person who edited the video of the entry.
- During the campaign recruitment period, participants can submit an unlimited number of works. However, regardless of the number of submissions, an entrant may only be eligible for ONLY one prize in this Promotion.
