Our second PRONEWS News Wrap up covers July of 2023! This month, we talked about everything from the new DJI Air 3 drone, to Atomos announcing a new edit app!
In our July News Wrap Up, we cover the top 5 articles of the month of July!
Number 1: DJI Air 3
DJI has announced the DJI Air 3!
This drone contains a number of new innovations, most notably, the drone’s camera has a dual-camera arrangement. One camera is a wide-angle lens and the other is a telephoto lens.
This drone also has an all-around obstacle detection system, which has been installed on previous drones, but not yet on the Air series! Also the batteries allow this drone to fly for 46 minutes on a singular charge.

Number 2: Sony A6700
The Sony A6700 is Sony’s latest A6x series, was released on July 12th. We covered in a YouTube video about the rumors surrounding the camera, and shortly after, Sony announced the camera. This APS-C camera uses revolutionary AI functions to better track the people or things being filmed, and has a all-new back-lit sensor…Ideal for low-light event photography and videography.
Number 3: Virtual Production Field Guide
The VPFG, as its abbreviated, is an outline in the evolving world of broadcasting. Today’s modern-day studios make production realistic while virtual using various techniquwes, such as LED screens, chroma-key studios, and Unreal Engine. Our continued series is going over a number of different virtual production studios here in Japan. We are also currently doing research on other studios overseas.
A good example from the USA is the NASCAR on Fox Studios. A few years back, the NASCAR on Fox broadcast unveiled a new studio, and it was really impressive how the studio hosts could stand next to a floating virtual car, which can cut away revealing the various parts of a race car. This whole program and studio is powered by Unreal Engine…a good percentages of the video games that are popular to play are also produced by Unreal Engine. All of this is rendered in using a massive chroma-key studio.
Number 4: Sirui NightWalker Lenses
Sirui, a company known for quality and cost, had develop this entire line of lenses, financed solely from crowdfunding. For a low price of 899 dollars, backers could receive 3 cinematic lenses, ranging from the 24mm, the Super35 format, and a 55mm format lens. Creating new camera products comes along side of a trend of video projects being crowdfunded on Indiegogo and other websites, so we at PRONEWS posterized that Sirui entered in that realm as a positive marketing strategy for these lenses. Number 5: Atomos Edit
Atomos Edit is not necessarily the run-of-the-mill editing software. While in Beta currently, this looks to be very promising for content creators. Those who need to release multiplatform content quickly will enjoy this app.
Using Atomos’s Cloud services, Atomos Edit allows social media teams to quickly amass, edit, and distribute content with speed an efficiency. An example of how it can be used is as follows: a sports photographer takes an image of a goal. That person’s camera would send the goal footage onto Atomos Cloud, an editor or social manager would receive it, then would use Atomos Edit to quickly edit and distribute it to Twitter, Insta, and other platforms.
