Inter BEE 2024 – Booth Reports
Fujifilm brought their latest in filmmaking technology to Inter BEE 2024, and when I say ‘latest,’ I literally mean the latest technology. Yesterday Novemeber 12, 2024, Fujifilm announced the development of the GFX ETERNA cinematic camera, the latest in the GFX line of large format cameras. They additionally announced its prototype would make its debut at Inter BEE 2024 at the Fujifilm booth. As soon as we arrived this morning at Makuhari Messe, I made a beeline to the Fujifilm booth to take a look.
The Fujifilm GFX ETERNA Debut
The Fujifilm GFX Eterna uses the large-format sensors that the GFX line is well known, for with a 102 megapixel sensor and the X-Processor 5 engine. At the Fujifilm Inter BEE 2024 booth, they paired the prototype with a newly developed Fujinon 32-90mm GFX power zoom lens, showcasing Fujifilm’s determination to become a leader in the video production industry.
The GFX Eterna will be released in 2025. Stay tuned to our channels for more information once we get it!
The GFX 100II and the GFX Experience
The most prominent touch and try pieces were the the GFX Experiences. Playing on a large monitor at the entrance of the booth was our colleague Erjol’s documentary which was filmed on the GFX100 II with Premista lenses. A number of GFX 100 II cameras were set up with a variety of Fujinon lenses for guests to test out.
The Newest Fujifilm X Series Camera, for beginners – the X-M5
Fujifilm earlier this year announced the Fujifilm X-M5, and at their booth at Inter BEE 2024, they had it on display with the earlier X-T5. This camera has a 6.2K 30MP sensor with plenty of useful features for the seasoned pro, but is marketed toward the beginners, students, and casual user market.
The differences in sensor sizes that Fujifilm has for their cameras is quite interesting. Other makers will usually just have a full-frame sensor lineup and an APS-C camera lineup, but Fujifilm skips the 35mm equivalent sensor camera. The X series of APS-C cameras, and the GFX series of large-sensor cameras makes up Fujifilm’s product lineup. The X-T5 has a very high megapixel sensor which more than makes up for the sensor size difference, and even this X-M5’s sensor has enough power behind it to pick up the slack in low light situations.
Fujifilm Seminars
Throughout Inter BEE 2024, the Fujifilm booth will host many seminars and speakers, including Erjol Muarem. If you are planning on visiting the booth, we highly recommend checking ahead to see who will speak and when.
